I had the opportunity to shoot a Benelli MR1 a little whie ago. That'd be my pick. I'd actually really like to get one but being as I'll only shoot a .223 rifle at the range it makes more sense for me to buy an AR because my money goes farther on that platform.
Take an ACR, get rid of the heavy ratchet handle and design a system that 2 bolts to hold barrel in place like the LMT MRP. Put in a light barrel with integral flash hider rather than the big heavy barrels most people seem to be putting in them to make them NR.
I have shot a buddy's ACR and found it too front heavy and somewhat bulky vs. an AR.
Prepare to be slagged by the MR-1 haters and there are a lot of them.
TBS I like mine.
To be honest, I prefer them to the AR. Like I said, in my case I'll only use it at the range when I'm operating, operationally anyways, and I can get a Colt Canada AR for the price of an MR1. Paying the NR premium doesn't make sense for me. But if I were dead set on getting something NR, I'd be getting the MR1 and wouldn't hesitate.
The new trunnion for the ACR to remove the ratchet handle is 500US
I'll stick with the extra couple of ounces.
wowsers thats a lot! jesus
A NR is more useful out West as we have fewer idiotic easterner gun laws like Morontario's "if you have a firearm in the bush and it's not hunting season you're poaching" law.
who and what have they shown you that made you believe this? The RCMP and government have yet to unveil how enactment and enforcement will be carried out on that issue and the Beowulf mags which are also subject to similar letters and opinions from the RCMP labAlso regarding the .22 mag. situation I believe that will be reversed too

Can't speak for the whole province, but most of it has an open season year round.
such as?Other decisions have been reversed in the recent past

Essentially the AR15 platform.
