What are you chasing in a NR Black gun??

Looking for something non-restricted, non-bullpup. Thinking maybe a FAMAE 542 (I have a significant chunk of money coming in!) with a fixes stock in .308. Possibly CSA CZ 858 in .223 with AR Mag well adapter - I already have an CZ-858 and love the platform.

I had the opportunity to shoot a Benelli MR1 a little whie ago. That'd be my pick. I'd actually really like to get one but being as I'll only shoot a .223 rifle at the range it makes more sense for me to buy an AR because my money goes farther on that platform.

Prepare to be slagged by the MR-1 haters and there are a lot of them.

TBS I like mine.

Take an ACR, get rid of the heavy ratchet handle and design a system that 2 bolts to hold barrel in place like the LMT MRP. Put in a light barrel with integral flash hider rather than the big heavy barrels most people seem to be putting in them to make them NR.

I have shot a buddy's ACR and found it too front heavy and somewhat bulky vs. an AR.

To be honest, I prefer them to the AR. Like I said, in my case I'll only use it at the range when I'm operating, operationally anyways, and I can get a Colt Canada AR for the price of an MR1. Paying the NR premium doesn't make sense for me. But if I were dead set on getting something NR, I'd be getting the MR1 and wouldn't hesitate.

A NR is more useful out West as we have fewer idiotic easterner gun laws like Morontario's "if you have a firearm in the bush and it's not hunting season you're poaching" law.

Can't speak for the whole province, but most of it has an open season year round.

Also regarding the .22 mag. situation I believe that will be reversed too
who and what have they shown you that made you believe this? The RCMP and government have yet to unveil how enactment and enforcement will be carried out on that issue and the Beowulf mags which are also subject to similar letters and opinions from the RCMP lab

Nothing I've read leads me to believe the (BC) RCMP will change their view on this topic, but that doesn't always mean they get what they want.

Other decisions have been reversed in the recent past and since this does not appear to have been completely adopted by all RCMP divisions nation wide (unless something has changed since I last researched this topic about a week ago) maybe there's a chance (trying to remain positive as this change does not seem to make any sense considering how long the mag.'s were made before the Charger showed up) it can be reversed or at least modified to make some sense (and I know that's asking a lot).

That and I had read the CSSA is trying to set-up a class action lawsuit regarding this ruling/regulation, so perhaps that will have some bearing on a reversal or at least some positive change.

We can't just take this sh*t, it must be met with a united and strong voice of opposition from all firearms enthusiasts because if we just give up much worse is to come. We all know what some anti-firearms people want (that being no firearms of any type for non-police and non-military, not even hunting), but if the masses are educated the numbers will be on our side (the numbers already are and are growing, particularly the ladies)...

Seriously is that how you want our children/future generations to remember the Firearms community of our time, a group just sitting back and not making any effort to find some common sense to Canada's firearm regulations/laws?

Cheers D

I promise you, if it ever comes to pass, i will post this image on the first politics and news thread about the change!

Yup some for sale on The ACR forum plus the import it fee from Prophet River thru their FFL. I was so excited for these to come out until I saw the price

Essentially the AR15 platform.

Bingo! It's just so damn perfect.

I have a lot of money tied up in a NR ACR. I finally get it to the range this week, and it's not even close to my AR's, in any category.
F@ck our classification system, right in it's ear. ;)
