What are you going to use this year for SR Matches

I will be using either my issue C7 and Elcan with IVI ammo OR (depending on whether the unit wants to support us or not) my own Armalite 20 inch flat top H-Bar,with elcan and IVI ammo.Either one will do the job.

Mike you coming out to shoot service this year?
 
Issued C-7A1 with Elcan, or my mirror image Armalite AR with Elcan. Ammo will either be IVI (issued) or American Eagle 62 grain (my rifle).

For the precision rifle matches, I may find myself trying out my SL-8 for the short range matches, and will likely shoot my C-3A1 (issued) for the longer range stuff.

Dlask lower with colt parts and RRA two stage trigger, RRA flat-top upper receiver with Leupold MR/T 3-9x and 20" 1:7" Colt Hbar barrel.
Backup upper is a Colt 20" 1:7" A2 barrel with flat-top upper and Elcan scope.

Backup rifle/I don't feel like dealing with a restricted rifle for the shoot in question is a SwissArms BlueStar with 1:7" twist barrel (rebarreled from the stock 1:10") and a Leupold MR/T 1.5-5x scope.

Ammo is IVI or handloads (handloads are either 69gr or 77gr SMK)

From a totally uneducated perspective, seems these "units" support as bad as worn out jockstraps. If they can't support a firearms master like yourself, what the heck are they doing?

ps--if you use the Armalite I think you have to reload after 5--we'll be counting.:)
 
Ours have been in for service with the gang in Gagetown...they came down and did a 4 day training course for us as well. They even upgraded the old wood stocks to Kevlar for us!

Very pleased with how they shoot.

NSCC Bangsticks

I'll be shooting my Bushy lower, with Armalite 20" upper flat top. Optics, I'm shooting the Leupold MR/T 3x9x36mm M1. Ammo is merely handloaded 62 gr. FMJ SS109's at 2850 fps.

For the sniper matches, I'm shooting my Remmy M700 .308 Win Varmint fluted, in AICS stock. Optics, I've got a Leupold LR/T M1 4.5x14x50mm Duplex, nothing fancy, works well. I'm shooting the Hornady 155 gr. AMAX at around 2775 fps. :)

Wow, this is really cool.... all kinds of people for the 14-19 July NSCC matches.

I like shooting with my Blackhawk Omega Rifleman's vest since I'm a sissy with recoil (sniper rifle in .308) :D I like the mag pouches and their positioning for the rundowns. :rolleyes:

I used to wear BDU shirts, but after using the American ACU uniform or my MARPAT BDU with the pockets on the sleeves, I'm over the BDU format or layout of pockets along the bottom of the blouse/combat shirt. :cool: With the cotton ripstop ACU shirt, the material is softer to my skin / neck that I don't have to worry about chafing my neck anymore. Hey, I found a good deal on Under Armour "Heat" or Metal longsleeve mock turtleneck primary layer ! What a nice piece of kit... so nice and cool. This "heat" version is designed to be worn all seasons (including the summer), specifically under your football / lacrosse / hockey gear. In our case, under the combat shirt and tactical vest.

I haven't shot service rifle before....but it would appear that at the shoots there is a service rifle and sniper rifle shoot that is out on?

What are the requirements/restrictions for each type of shoot? Are they elsewhere?

There are usually seperately scheduled service and sniper rifle shoots.

The service shoots are usually Matches 1-12 (or some combination of them) from the old CFSAC series.

The Sniper shoots depend on the location...some places do it differently!

Equipment for the service shoot is generally an AR type rifle, although they've opened it up to "any rifle, any sight".

For a sniper rifle match, you need a rifle that's capable of shooting 1 MOA or better out to 800 meters. Caliber is generally up to you, so is optics, etc. There may be a weight restriction though (15 pounds?)

Hungry I think that not all of us are coming out to NSCC,but perhaps just our provincial matches.

Firearms master I am not.I do ok though. ;)And EVERYONE has to reload after 5 rounds including the army guys even though we have those illegal super dangerous 30 round mags. :)
