Ideally cheaper the better but we all know you pay for what you get.

WK180-C
T97
Tavor (a little bit of an Ouchy for relatively the same performance)
Other?

Lets hear it! If other what else is there? Hit me with an IN STOCK link. I was also looking at MCR but sold out everywhere.

I was looking in the 223/556 area, not shy of 9mm thought. I do not want to have to tinker with it. Buy, put an optic on. Put 2k rounds though. Not even in that order! lol

T97 for value and dependability as long as you can accept and adapt to the weird ergonomics. Had one that rode around in equipment with me for a few years to take coyotes and it served the purpose well. Surprisingly I got half decent accuracy with a couple of factory 40gr v-max offerings.

Or perhaps a used Benelli MR1? Can pick them up used at $1400 - $1500. I'd take a used MR1 over a new WK180-C any day. Sure the MR1 lacks a bit of modularity but it won't break like the 180-C.

Good points, Eh no tacticool mag reloads when hunting or plinking. So im not to worried about weird ergos.

My vote is also for the X95. I have a WK180 as well but the ergonomics and ease of disassembly of the X95 and the long interval between cleanings wins me over. There have been reported issues with the WK which includes broken piston rods and sheered charging handles on the last generation models and earlier (I haven't had any of these issues...yet). That said, bullpups aren't for everyone and it the Tavor is definitely more cost prohibitive. I don't have a T97 so can't comment either way.

If you MAY consider a 9mm PCC (I know your preference is .223/5.56), you can't go wrong a Ruger PC Carbine. My personal fave is a Freedom Ordnance FX9.

Bullpups are yuck, and the WK is also kinda yuck. Id I were forced to choose between the three though, I guess I'd pick a Tavor? I wouldn't be happy about it though. Lol. The WK quality is questionable at best, and I've heard lots of people saying they have issues with the T97s. Maybe that's just an earlier gen thing? I dunno.

at first w gen 1 I heard of issues, it seems the gen 3s do fairly well, from my googlefu

If you go bullpup then do X95, not Tavor.
If you can afford it then I say B&T something. If not then ACR.

If you have the $$ stretch and buy the X95. Built like a tank and solid. If $ is tight I'd take the T97 over the WK180... I don't like the ergos of the T97 (or bullpups in general), but the WK180s have been too unreliable at DSSMatch.com 3 gun events.

I'd wait on the WK Gen 2. For the money I don't see a better option. I have a WS-MCR and it's great. If you're in a rush and have a higher budget The X95 would be my second choice.

if you are looking at 9mm id also add in the JR Carbine.
Its a fun gun that takes a lot of AR parts if you have any of those kicking around.

its in the same price range as WK-180, T97, PCC9

I agree with all of this. T97 ergos suck, but the gen3 I had was a solid gun.

Kind of like comparing apples to oranges. A Tavor if you have the money to spend but otherwise the T97 is a great gun, watch the utube videos. Yes, the ergonomics are a bit weird but you won't notice it much if you put a red dot or 1-6 scope on it. Works flawless. Can't compare a 9mm to a .223, sorry.

Greentips had a post a little while back about the X95, which would sell anyone on it that read it. Sold me on it anyways, haha! The problem is fitting the damn thing into the monthly budget.. Might have to sell a few guns to make it happen, as the X95 seems to be the best 5.56 option available to Canadians. Get it NR, while you still can.

I sold my X95. The sole reason is that I cannot successfully integrate my LAD setup into it.

X95 is the only thing right now in the market that is proven in both durability and reliability. X95 is a tool, no other semi auto, even the ACR or APC, have proven themselves with an actual service record by a conscription army( even the conscripts cannot break it). So i will venture to say that X95 has proven itself to be a tool, others have not earned the right to be called a service grade firearm.

Saying that, X95 does have its own shortcomings. Accuracy is not great, but if you know what are doing you can do 0.18 split with the stock trigger no problemo.

But seriously, 5.56 is a 100m affair these days. Practising shooting over 200m with a 2MOA /1M stick 5.56 is fast becoming completely irrelevant as a practical skill other than hunting varmints. There is a reason why the US draws up the spec for 6.8 NGSW. That's why I stop bothering with shooting over 200m with 5.56 these days at big fig12. The lower accuracy of X95 is not as much as a deal than before, the compactness of X95 is much more a premium than accuracy.

If you can't run an AR, then the only other real option is the Tavor x95 imho. Non Restricted, built like a tank. Great trigger, easily accepts optics and add ons if that's your thing. Buy once, cry once.

Id say a gen 2 Wk180 but Kodiak said release would be in a "month or two" more than 2 months ago and they're totally radio silent now.

If it isnt released soon Ill probably buy an RDB. It's shooting season and Im not waiting around for Kodiak.
