What buffer weight for my SBR?

I can't think of a combination I've looked up where the answer hasn't been H2. So I'm going with H2.

I've got a standard buffer running in my 8.5" it ejects exactly at the 3:00 position, I've got an H2 buffer that i'm going to try to see if that prevents brass flying directly to the person next to me.

Ejecting at 3 is borderline. Should be 4 o'clock 4:30. H is better in 7.5" and 8.5". 10.5" is still pistol length gas but add another 2 to 3 inches of pressure dwell time means you will need a little heavier. It will work with an H but you will probably eject at 2 o'clock.

I run a standard carbine buffer in mine. I've only got 100 rounds down the pipe but not a single issue. I ordered a dpms from brownells.

Start with a standard buffer first and run the rifle for a few hundred rounds to see if the rifle cycles correctly. There is more to the rifle then the buffer weight as a SA or FA bolt carrier or a particular brand of spring can change the dampening effect.

Do not get hung up with these damn pie graphs for ejection patterns.
