What can i hunt with a .303br

Here is my sporterized Enfield

I hunt deer, moose & black bears with it. It likes the 180gr Remington Core-Lokts

With a name like Stuart, you sure wouldn't be offended. I for one a of German decent and I don't care for being lined up with caribou, moose, and deer. Are you better than me Mr. Stuart?

Furthermore, the 303 has taken more dangerous game than any other calibre in Africa.

Also wounded and lost more game than any other cartridge in Africa, ask a couple of PH's about their thoughts on the 303 Brit. Good caliber when matched with the right bullet. Just like our 30-40 Krag, will do the job quite well, you just have to be picky about what you are using in it. Les

Yeah, it is a wee bit insulting to the animals to be lumped in with nazis...:)

Canadian troops killed a lot of Germans with the 303 cartridge, then they brought them home and killed alot of moose and deer, too.

It's biggest handicap may be some of the worn out rifles it is chambered in. although some are still very accurate.

What can you hunt with the 303Br? Anything in the world. Just do not use surplus ammo for hunting. It works well on the enemy, but doses not take game cleanly!

Gatehouse, originally, it was stated as "germans". Does your comment change now? Do we refer to the 8mm Mauser 98 as a rifle well suited for Moose, Caribou, English, and deer? Give me a freaken break. It would be bloody insulting.

I understand when and where the Lee Enfield was/is used and don't need a basic 101 history lesson on it.;)

My dad has a sporterized Lee Enfield and has taken Moose, Caribou, and deer.
It's a pleasant caliber to shoot and very effective on game.

I'm out of this one. Peace.

Yeah, my comment changes to:

Yeah, it is a wee bit insulting to the innocent animals to be lumped in with Germans killed by 303 British cartridges, seeing as those Germans started 2 world wars, plunged much of the world into chaos (2x,) tried to exterminate a race of people and forced Canadians to cross the Oceans (2x) to kill them with 303 British cartridges, and many Canadians lost thier lives too...

History is only insulting if your skin is thin. :)

You're truly "special" Gatehouse. You're one sided and ignorant view of history is quite remarkable. If you give yourself a chance and take your blinders off, you would see there are two sides two every conflict, view, and opinion. You would also understand that what people feed you as "truths" and "facts" are merely a selection of what these people want you to see and understand.
You're highlighted facts are truthfull indeed. However, the choice of what facts have been presented and which ones are decidedly and purposely left out are something quite different.
War is ugly for everyone involved. Each side fighting for what each side believes to be true and righteous. Of course, it's the winner of a war that finally writes the view of history that will be expounded as fact for all to see and read. However, just understanding this point and accepting that there may be another perspective will enlighten you and elevate you to a higher understanding.

So, open your eyes and leave the hate. My family suffered greatly too from the conflict and didn't have much to say about it. They weren't ASKING people if they WANTED to fight. They were given the same choice of anyone drafted by their country into their army. Fight or take the bullet. This is hardly deserving of lumping a whole people into a pile lesser than, as you put it, "innocent animals".

Blah, blah, blah...quit-cher-damn-bellyachin' & get back on topic :slap:

The .303 British chambered in a Lee Enfield "Sussex" was my first big game rifle as a kid. My neighbour bought it outta the Simpson Sears catalog and shot a nice bull moose with it then sold it to me complete with a 6x "Buffalo" scope. Got my first deer with that old war horse and have owned several since. Even with all my modern rifles, I still keep a .303 kicking around and just about everbody I know has one or two tucked away somewhere. There isn't an animal in Canada that can't be taken with the .303 British. Use 150gr SP for deer and smaller, 180gr SP for caribou & bigger. If you can locate some old Dominion 215gr Kling-Kor soft points at a gun show, scoop 'em up for moose rounds extrodinaire in the .303 British.

Actually d!ck-wit, I was born ZENON RAPHAEL KUSIOR....THAT WOULD BE POLISH TO YOU.

And from what I can see, the only one who gives a toss about this little storm in a teacup is you, so stick your holier-than-thou attitude up your arse.
