What can I hunt with my air rifle?

Each province has minimum caliber requirements for hunting.
I don't think a pellet gun meets the min hunting gun requirements.
Check your local hunting regulations

As stated shot placement is everything
Northern Moose may require more than 1 shot to bring him down.
And be prepared to track it for awhile as blood signs may not be evident.:p

This thread is going to be interesting :D

Better get that sucker registered - hope you have your PAL... unless of course it's 495fps. ;) And, honestly, my son and I started out with one of those - we shoot drywall with it now as unless you can find something very very small within about 10 yards or so you are not doing much.

In Ontario, you can hunt small game with an air rifle. Same small game licence. Air and pellet pistols under 500 fps are ok too. As daft as that sounds.

In Quebec you are not allowed to hunt with an air gun of any sort.

Your air rifle will kill mice, small birds and on the big side, a squirrel.

For moose try the Korean made Dragon .50 PCP Your gun will cleanly kill grouse and rabbits within 25 yards provided you headshoot them.Gophers as well........................Harold

I am assuming you made some kind of typo. A slingshot should be able to kill most anything within 25 yards, let alone something in .50 cal.

Don't recognise humour? The Koreans make a .50 cal dragon PCP that shoots .495 balls at 600+Fps and guys have used them where legal for deer and wild boar out to 75 yards or so..Dennis Quackenbush has been making BG air rifles for years used in Africa .also killed NA bison.Napoleans troops were terrified of airgunners as what you don't hear can kill you..............................................the rest for small game as the question originally asked was answered............................Harold

grackles, other annoying a*s pest birds, small squirrels at close range (headshots), mice, gophers (same as the squirrels), some people hunt rabbits at close range (headshots) where its legal, etc. i think most or all of these have been already mentioned though.

Update
I shot a bird today with this gun. Don't know what kind of bird it was but it about the size of a small pigeon. Used .177 Pellets

First I hit it in the chest at 7 yards....flew off like nothing happened to it.

I tracked it and shot it in the wing again, it glided to the ground.

Then I shot it 3 more times in the back but it kept walking.

Finally I nailed it down with a headshot.

Total: 6 Shots
Is this normal? :eek::eek:
