I recently purchased a Magnetospeed Sporter that was dead on arrival, so I exchanged it and the replacement was dead too.

I'm not sure what that is all about but I was not able to get the first unit to read the bayonet, and the second unit appeared to have a dead control device.

Very weird..

Anyways.. what chronograph do you use? How do you like it?

I have owned pretty much all of them throughout the years. Never did bother with the Magnetospeed since it only works on certain guns. Settled on a Labradar with a G2 for backup/confirmation.

Never had any issues with the Shooting Chrony or Magnetospeed.
Lab radar is expensive and does not work on small caliber bullets. Or at least it didn't' when I looked it up.

when I looked it up it didn't work on 22 cal (223 included)
perhaps it has been upgraded

It definitely does .223, I have over 200 series on that alone. .22lr works fine too, the only thing I couldn't reliably get speeds on were .22cb because they are too quiet.

Would work fine with the airgun trigger available but I really don't care that much. With some small calibres in some conditions all you really need to do is take more care aiming it, which isn't hard. You may lose some resolution too (range).

I use a Caldwell one. You can connect it to your phone with an app to track sets, but I can no longer connect it to my phone because it uses the headphone jack to connect (its not wireless) and my phone doesn't have one. I have a usb-c to headphone jack cable that works fine to connect to the AUX In on my cars stereo but it doesn't seem to work for the chrono for whatever reason.

Chrono still works, but I've got to write down my result after each shot now.

It was cheap though, $99 on sale (plus I only paid half) so for what I paid it's still good.

I would love a Labradar but they're too expensive for me.

The Labradar looks pretty good and definitely fits the "buy once, cry once" motto.

The Magnetospeed really disappointed me to the point that I'm not sure I want to spend $600 on the V3. Two faulty units back to back is highly unlikely, but it still happened.

I'll have to think about spending $1000 on one..
