What Chronograph do you use?

Yeah it looks pretty neat. It’s actual radar as opposed to the magnetospeed.
It just Bluetooth connects to your smartphone.

Looks like it’s much less picky if you decide to mount it on your rifle as well. Unlike the magnetospeed it doesn’t need to be strapped tight. In the video he attached it to a shotgun with tape.

Do they mention price?

Edit - their web page says 900 euros which is $1300cad.

Had a shooring chrony, too fussy about light, bought an Oehler 35P, that was 30+ yrs ago. The way I have the Oehler set up is usually PDQ to set up, but, over the years, I shot on a farm most of the time. I picked up a V3 magnetospeed 10 or s0 yrs ago, works fine, handy to use on indoor ranges at the time, but, there are things like my SxS that I have to use the Oehler for instead. I was hoping for something other than a Labradar to be developed over the years, there is one that is out now, that may be better, hard to say, but, it's about the same price. Not buying a Lab Radar, don't need the add-ons and the tradeoffs on it, for that kind of money, they can keep it.

I am still using my Model 900 (with Paper Screens) purchased from Custom Chronograph, Brewster/WA in 1984. New price then with 300 Screens 175.80 USD.
Starting now to run short on Paper screen but unfortunately CC has long been since out of Business.
The thing works well and likely will do me for the rest of my reloading time.

Cheers

Sold the Shooting Chrony i had, pain to fiddle with. Like the Lab Radar i bought, only issue was with 204 bullets. My son has a Magneto Speed, seems to work. I will have to set them up together and see what comes up.

Still using my Chrony Gamma Master with printer, that I bought in 2004. Occasionally I think about getting a Magnetospeed Sporter,

For the past 30+ years I've used a

Shooting Chrony Gamma for gee whiz/plinking purposes.

Oehler 35P w/8Ft 3 screens for serious purposes @40F & above..

LCD display's do not like below freezing temperatures.

A couple buddies have sent their LabRadars back when the whole screen went black @ 32F scale.

I have a shooting chrony that worked as it should for years. Drop charts matched with what it said. Then all of a sudden they didn't and everything was slow. 200 plus fps slow.

Took me a while to figure that out, even sold off a nice new gun due to not veing able to get velocity out of it. Well 3 in a row cant be slow. Went out to distance and the chrony and drop charts did not agree, stuff shot way flatter. Checked some older loads and sure enough. It claimed everything was slow.

Put it on the shelf haven't touched it in 5 years.

Currently use a Labradar and am pleased with it. I had a Chrony before and it was sensitive to light conditions, which was a pain when I lived in the NWT due to the angle of the sun.
Good things about the Labradar: doesn't need to be shot through, doesn't need to be placed forward of the firing line, easy to read screen, easy to use buttons when wearing gloves, works at all the temp ranges I have subject it too (down to -35 C).
Issues encountered with the Labradar: eats AA batteries - you are best off using a USB power source, low light effects tracking ability, will register shots by other shooter close by - easy to eliminate from string as long as the velocity is very different or you know which shot it was.

I am still using my shooting chrony beta master. Set up takes some tinkering to line everything up but only really used for hunting rifles once I have settled on loads.

Have to agree. Once the temps drop anything electric or with a screen starts having problems. - dan
