I finaly bought a stainless rifle, however I want to keep my black scope.
I am undecided what color scope rings to use on this project, what would look better?, is it possible that maybe you guys can post some pics so I can see what would look better, stainless with black scope with SILVER rings or BLACK rings.

I would appreciate it.

It is a hunting rifle....does it matter.

Ps if you were really worried about aesthetics you would not have purchased stainless.

black on black looks best, IMO, since the aftermarket scope rings are usually not really 'stainless' but rather a finished/painted/plated carbon steel or aluminum that will never be a 100% match.

the one exception to this, IMO, is the Ruger rings - which you get with the rifle anyway - which are a perfect match and blend seamlessly with the rifle.

i only own one stainless rifle thats not a Ruger and didnt come with rings - a Savage - and i chose to go with black on black:

IMO the slightly 'champagne' colored 'stainless' rings wouldnt have looked right.

Honestly, hunting rifle or not, it matters to me, I like my stuff to work good and look good as well, ESPECIALLY MY FIREARMS, not to impress others but to take pride in what I got.

But seriously George....if you reeeeeaaaaaalllyyyyy had any pride in your firearm, you would not have bought a RUGER !

Right ?

I was wondering about this very thing myself, as I currently have a black 6-18x AO scope sitting in the closet without a rifle to put it on (boy do I have my priorities straight or what? If anything I have an excuse :D)

Since one of the rifles I was considering is a stainless Ruger, which comes with stainless rings, I also was interested in seeing what the combo looked like.

Unfortunately I am underwhelmed :(. My preference is now definately black rings with black scope, but this also eliminates the advantage of the rings packaged with the Ruger :(.

Take the rings to your local firearms outlet and see if they will exchange them for black Rugers.

This is one of the great internet questions, because the answer doesnt really matter. Stainless rings tend to be more expensive. Why pay extra for the same end result if your still using s black scope?
Thats my answer;)
Why just today I went through this . This is the result.

Should have bought camo rings and the matching purse:D:D:D:D
Gunfashion, aint it cute:D:D:D

Im just hacking on ya;)

the main turnoff for me is that 90% of aftermarket 'stainless' rings on the market arent really stainless, just some sortof finished/plated carbon steel or aluminum. would it be so hard for these companies to machine the rings out of stainless?
