What do you guys think of my new Kel Tec sub 2000 (Glock) 9mm?

The PO made all the improvements, and only fired 100 rounds.

I wanted a "toteable" non-restricted rifle for the field, camping, and the range. I also wanted something that fired a manageable low-recoil pistol round. I hope this bad boy fits the bill. I am a complete novice when it comes to this model, and rifles that fire pistol rounds in general, so I will learn as I go. It uses Glock 17 magazines.

Here's what she's got:

--Buffer cylinder that reduces felt recoil over 30%
--Bolt tube cover for a comfortable cheek weld
--Operating handle cover that reduces finger stress
--Sightmark Ultra Shot QD holosight
--Kel Tec quad rail
--Hogue Handall Glock pistol grip
--Fab Defense vertical forend grip foldable w/ compartment
--2x KCI 33/5 mags
--Magpul sling hoop
--Magpul ms3 sling
--3x Magpul rail covers

quadrail, sight, grip cover, cheek rest cover, vert grip, rail sling attachment and sling and longer mags are upgrades. make the rifle much heavier than it needs to be for carrying around all day
 
She looks good to me... I guess to each their own. In the end, it's always been function over form for me, and ultimately there's beauty in function.

According to the PO, she's still extremely light. When she arrives in the mail, I will throw her on a scale, fully loaded, just for laughs. I suspect, even kitted-out with a fully loaded extended magazine, she will be the lightest rifle in my collection.
 
I didn't think that little guy would last long! If only you could fold it with the sight still in place . . .

Take it out and have fun! Ten rounds of semi-auto for a pretty good overall price sounds good to me
 
I think it looks fine. I wouldn't bother personally with a foregrip though. I find that it doesn't really help and would prefer an afg. It must be a bit of a pain having to remove and replace the optics all the time. But otherwise all the bases are covered.
 
The S2K is a neat little rifle. Liked the one I bought for a friend so much, I snagged one for myself...and just grabbed a second one (better in pairs). I left mine in factory pure form... The only thing i'll add is a rubber slip grip and some kinda single point sling...

Enjoy the gun... They're lotsa fun.

The quad rail in the pic is a Keltec factory accessory. It is completely useless junk and will rattle loose within a few mags, its only function is to look good. If you really want a quad for a Sub200, there is ONLY 1 option IMHO. That is the Redlion Precision product. It will rotate and index in 90 degree increments, this allows you to mount an optic AND still fold the gun. The Redlion is also a free float hand guard while the Keltec one uses a clamp at the forward end.

Great option if Red Lion actually exported to Canada. Last I heard the only way to get one was to find someone to import it and pay a premium.
The sub2000 doesn't need a quadrail. It is a simple pack-gun that works fine the way it is.
Just my opinion but trying to make some tactical race gun out of it is silly. It's like buying an SKS and then spending $800 on it to tacticool it, you could have just bought an 858 in the beginning and had a better gun for less.
 
'Saw one at Wanstalls yesterday - the guy beside me asked to see one, they opened the box, unfolded it, and that was all it took - he bought it on the spot.

They are pretty cool - and a reasonable price too.

Wow... this thread has confirmed the following:

I overpaid ($1100 + shipping) for what amounts to a $400 (if that) piece of junk. Thanks for the honest opinions guys, really.

When I receive the rifle, I now plan to do the following:

-- strip off the POS Kel Tec quad rail and toss it in 'G' ... Thank you Canadian_Zuk
-- toss the foregrip as "it doesn't really help"... Thank you Apollyon
-- toss the recoil reducing piece of foam: "it's a 9mm, what recoil? I'd rather be able to lock the bolt back" ... Thank you cr5

I'll probably just toss the Sightmark QD holosight, as it's probably the worst made cheap-a$$ holosight on the market anyway.

Keep an eye on EE as I strip and sell for big discounts.

Given the fact that it's so damn ugly (90+% of you agree that it is the ugliest POS ever made), I have decided to treat it for the biatch that it is, and abuse it at the range and see if it holds together. Apparenly Kel Tec products are pure junk, so I suspect it will fail quickly. If not, I have a good de-tacticooled "pack gun".

For a pistol caliber NR, I prefer the just right 9mm carbine, has AR parts and interchangeable ar part upgrades. And price of a JR is $900 and it looks a lot better than the Keltec. One thing that the Keltec I like is the fact it folds in half.
