What do you oil your rifles with

I just read the descripttion on their website. They say to spray g96 into the chamber. I was always under the impression that nothing should be in the chamber to ensure the brass grips the chamber during expansion. Thoughts?

For lubrication of the bolt or trigger mechanism, Hoppes' #9. A former neighbour, firearms enthusiast, hunter and commercial fisherman across the street had another solution for protection of the metal exterior. Here on the 'wet' coast he had something rendered down from his commercial fishing. Ratfish oil. Seems to be super water repelant. A small amount on a wipe down cloth does the trick.

G96 for exterior surfaces, a speck of RIG grease on bolt slideing and camming surfaces, a speck of GMC camshaft breakin lube on bolt lugs. Nothing in bores, unless the residual film of Hoppes #9 counts.

In the event of needing lubrication in the field, tranny fluid right off the dipstick.

G96 Gun Treatment for everyday cleaning and rubdowns
and a rub down with G96 Sheath in the bush..stuff comes in handy towlettes and is magic for a water repellant on steel

I use Colemans camp fuel mixed about 50:1 with ATF to clean my guns. The camp fuel gets into the small spaces and washes out grime and evaporates and leaves behind a thin layer of lubrication. Only problem is its smelly, might not want to clean them in the house.

I dont oil my rifles ever.
They get scubbed down with Hoppes #9 and thats it.

I have removed a lot of seized up oil product of unknown origin with starting fluid but there's another story....
