what do you think about the quality of M14?

Best bang for the buck in a semi auto in a center fire caliber is my opinion. I can't believe how well it shot out of the box with the iron sights. I have some mild mods planned but I am thrilled with mine.

Stock is the only issue i've had with mine. If I was rich i'd burn the stock and buy a glass one, but since i'm not and I cant afford one at this point I have to make due with what it comes with.

I tired everything suggested on this forum for removing the oil. Dishwasher method x4 times. Sanding. Scrubbing with greese removers. Heat guns. Sat it on a wood stove for 2 weeks. In the end I got pissed off and got some nasty old industrial paint remover. It was can, about the size of a spray paint can. The paint remover was a gel, nasty smelling, burned my hands right threw the big yellow gloves I stold from the old lady. I rubbed it on the stock to cover the entire surface, placed it in a garbage bag and let sit for half hour. Removed it, cleaned it. No more oil!! THANK GOD

Currently have about 8coats of krylon flat black paint on (almost full can) did that last sun. It's sitting beside a wood stove at my mother's. This weekend i'll start the clear coat. It looked good when I last saw it, with any luck it'll turn out good. I sure hope so, from what I saw from other's who painted the stock black it really matches the rifle.

Great bang for the buck. All the fun of a Ruger 10/22 but with much, much more bang and range. I shot a 5'X8" group with it at 200 meters my first time out with it (which was also my first time firing anything at 200).

Needed to replace the flash hiders on mine, but since then I've been having a blast with them.

Don't buy two, buy four. Or your #### will fall off.

I had an early Norc in the 90's and it was a turd.
Nothing like the Springfield M-14 I had (now-demilled).

I've seen some Norc's that have had love and attention that are nice shooters.

My biggest beef is the China issue, and I would rather have people buy American guns, rather than support a potential enemy.

I know it's hard to believe, but there are still some in the US that don't understand that the ChiCom M14s were purchased from the Chinese by the importers. All subsequent sales supported American dealers and Americans. All work, upgrades and modifications made on these M14s has supported the American economy.

There are plenty of all original ChiCom M14s that are excellent shooters and there are many with USGI bolt conversions and more that are outstanding M14s.

When American citizens buy a Poly Tech or Norinco M14 they are supporting America and it's economy not China.

Economy 101.

Ex.

-Chicom Builds the entire gun and sells it to Hank Hill inc. - HH IMPORTS the gun- (certainty)

-Billy Bob buys said gun from Hank Hill. (certainty)

MAYBE, he will also buy a Surplused USGI bolt from the EE.

Unless the gun is sold @ 200 % or more of the landed cost of importing the gun. The US import has sent money to China more than it has kept it in the US.

HOW does that balance help the US economy and not China ??

If you want to help the US Econ... buy US and keep the money in the US, dont try to explain that buying Chinese helps the US economy. Any kid knows that.

And yes, Norinco makes a nice m14.

You failed Economy 101.

The retailer marks up the price of the rifle purchased from the Chinese.
The retail price covers the money invested in the product and everything above the per unit cost is profit for the retailer.
The retailer collects taxes and fees. The retailer may also have employees that benefit from the sale of these and other imported items.

Take your politics out of this thread, that is not part of the original posters question. If you feel in nescessary to continue then open your own posts to discuss it. Keep it on topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter how much money I spent on mine, it's still under the cost of a equivalent AR or Swiss arms.

The stock er, stock really has to go however.

Fun project guns, you can go budget or full bore your choice :)
