what do you think about the quality of M14?

Did you get it from weinjack(sp?), if so i got mine from him too and it was in decent condition when i got it, no mold, most of the cosmo was removed, top notch

I agreed!

I got my first one from weimajack and everything is top notch and actually he didn't even mind holding the rifle for me until I got back from Florida with my family during holidays!

One of the best EE seller here, as the matter of fact I think he clean the rifle prior to ship because my second one (from another dealer) was still in cosmo along with some free white substances (mould?) but anyway, that dealer was so honest and he even know the supply is done with but still only charges me the old advertised price (another great dealer here)!

Now I know my #### is secure (won't fall off for the time being until I have a chance to attend Hungry's clinic):D:D:D

I know Hungry already started his other journey on the Nork M4 I hope I have enough money to keep up with his pace otherwise my #### will fall off for another reason!

Very functional rifle out of the box, equal to just about any out of the box American hunting rifle that's semi auto.

Beauty is you can scale it to however much you want to drop into it and drive it to where ever you'd like it to go; plinker, precision rifle, main battle rifle or enhanced battle rifle. Imagination and wallet's the limit.

Yep, this one started out as a bone stock Norinco in Chu wood...

Lets face it.
There is nothing wrong with a $399.00 M305 as it comes from the box.
It goes bang every time I pull the trigger and it is fairly accurate even with iron sights.
I don't have ambitions of shooting sub-moa or past 200 yards (limitation of the range I go to).
The need to replace parts is just that - a need/want.
How many people have shot out a barrel of their rifles, or "worn" a firearm to such a point that it needed to be overhauled.
I would suggest that very few people have.
I would also hazard a guess that very few people have the funds to aquire and shoot enough ammunition to wear out a gun.
Competition shooters being the exception.

While fit and finish might leave something to be desired one must remember it is a utility firearm, not a competition grade rifle, family heirloom, or tack driving sniper rifle.

I don't worry about my kids scratching the stock on the shooting table. Nor do I worry about all the components that I have to replace - my kids can't outshoot the gun yet.

The story may change when they reach the upper limit of the firearm as their ability to shoot nice tight groups improve -- but I'll worry about that later.
In the meantime I can spend the money on ammuntion and quality time with the kids.

Besides, I can always spend more money once they have left the house and are finished school.....

The asking price is well worth it for the receiver alone. If you put the equivalent cost of a new M1A into a Norinco build, you would have a far better rifle than the out of the box M1A.

Most of the shortcomings of the Norincos are fairly easy fixes, anyway.
