What firearm is this?

The one in the pic seems to have a flash hider of some sort.

Just because no one has really seen any of the wz.28's, I thought I would share some pics that were saved off the internet some years ago from a UK site that was selling them. Very rare! Apparantly these (as most Polish arms) were used by the SS and other 2nd line units. Some surfaced in Canada I am told that came in from Spain (as sold to them during the civil war). Not sure if the SCW ones are scrubbed or not.

Enjoy!

I wouldn't volunteer to hump that thing. I carried a C-9, and it was heavy enough. That thing looks as heavy as a piece of rail, and just as awkward.

Officialy Poland exported 1880 of RKM wz28. There is no number for 1939?????
1936-1937 they sold 428, 126 were sold to Palestine the rest went to Spain. The reminder was sold mainly to Spain.
Warsaw factory only operated at 25% of it production potential. Monthly production ability was 600 machine guns.

The biggest hit in Light machine guns on the world market in pre war years were Czech ZB models

CSRG: Chauchat, Suterre, Ribeyrolle, Gladiateur.

Sort of a long-recoil French analog to the Lewis, 8mm Lebel, 20-round mag, but assembled with absolutely zero quality control.... and it needed some.

Read an evaluation of it that called it, "incomparably the worst light machinegun ever made".

STILL wanta try one out!
.

I firmly believe :yingyang: - in my own dark fashion :stirthepot2: - that France's sale of the miserable Chauchat to the U.S. is a lingering cause of animosity between the two countries....:nest:

i watched "apocalypse" the other day too. could have swore they showed an american soldier armed with a mauser. there was also a german sniper with a left handed rifle (i assume that the film had been reversed). i was also surprised to hear that rommel was a nazi.
