Fair enough. I do agree it could be done cheaper but I'm not looking for another product that has too many corners cut to save a few bucks. I guess everyone's wants and needs are different. A good way for them to make it more affordable to more people may be for them to offer the rifle with a cheaper cost barrel. Then people like me can always go have the match grade barrel screwed on after. I would be willing to comprimise. I understand that lower initial cost makes it more appealing and more affordable to a larger customer base. It is up to the company who produces it to decide the proper balance of quality and affordability

I couldn't agree more. That is the best way to suit everyone. However the cheapest way to manufacture a product is to make one model and run with it. That other place that makes an ultra high end NR semi auto gives their customers options and believe me it costs a company extra to be able to do that for you. It's all factored into the price.
 
Dragunov stock NR 9mm carbine. semi (blowback?) or pump. Ideally pistol mag based with an existing trigger group (drop-in options)
 
Magazines for various rifles/pistols that are cheaper and/or better quality than imported units

Domestically produced ammunitions, pistol and rifle Canadian brands or reliable quality ammo

Some Kind of Mosin Nagant or SKS or SVT40 or Enfield in .22LR
 
Single stack 10 round LAR pistol magazine (with the grooves of a USGI mag) that resembles a 30 round body....

For those thinking of a bolt action bull pup rifle... what about a magazine fed pump action bullpup? By changing the action from a bolt to a pump means never having to remove your hands from the fore end or the grip. I imagine there are rotating bolt systems out there that could be copied like an AR barrel with no gas port, barrel extension and bolt head but make everything else about the rifle proprietary so those three things are the only AR based items... or some other idea like that. With using AR barrel & bolt then .223 Wylde, .308Win, 300BLK and others could be done easily as tghe tooling is done for them: just order AR barrels with no gas port.

Then you could clone a Desert tech trigger system and use standard or proprietary standard (20-30) capacity magazines. Making it a pump action allows it to be stable, a fast action, no changing hand positions and non-restricted.
