What Guns are you using for Bear Hunting this Year?

I have pretty much settled on 2 guns; my .405Win M1895 Winchester and my .35 Whelen M700.

I'm gonna shoot 350gr Hornady spitzers in the .405Win and 250gr Hornady IL spitzers in the Whelen.

The .405Win is over the iron and I've got a 1.5-6x Vari-X III on the Whelen. So if I get the opportunity, I will stalk and shoot my bear with the .405 and if I hafta make a longer shot, I'm gonna grab the Whelen.

I've been shooting the .405 offhand at 100 yards and I can shoot 'minute-of-bear'. :)

I used a Kimber in .338 Win mag with 225 TSXs for my grizzly. It worked OK. Come to think of it, my partner used the same bullet and the guide carried the same caliber with the old X bullets.

Tikka T3 lite in .270 topped with a 3-9x40 Vortex Viper.

I was out with Fusion 130gr bullets hunting elk and the bear kept hanging out on my trail where I would hike in and out. I thought "bear, elk, whatever" and the bear thought "oh crap I'm dead"....... ;)

You are leaving out the home hunting.............

good ole Saskatchewan gophers!!!

That is exotic. :p

My sidekick on these hunts is also from BC. Apparantly BC is a bit shy on red stag, water buffalo, black buck and muskox amoung other things. OK, the muskox isn't until spring but you get the picture.
