What handgun to buy?

If you want casual shooting, cheap, and accuracy together, you pretty much should look around for a 1322 or 1377 pump pneumatic Crosman.

A Mk1 or Mk11 Crosman CO2 pistol is a pretty decent machine for shooting too, if you either don't mind the cost of cartridges, or you do what I did and put a bulk adapter and an airgun CO2 tank on it.

There are a LOT of aftermarket parts for the 2240 line of Crosmman pistols too.

I always found it really more frustrating, than fun, to shoot a air pistol that was not at least as capable as I was, for accuracy.

If you get a chance to shoot a decent quality target grade air pistol, do it! It'll ruin you for playing with kids toy airguns, for sure! :)

The 150$ air pistols are made with zinc alloy. They are still great guns to shoot, but zinc alloys are generally lighter, much weaker than steel, and cannot be blued or parkerized. The 1000$ airsoft pistol I posted is made of steel, like a real 1911a1. So, the weight is more realistic, the gun is more soild, and the blowback action have more kick. But it's a lot of money...

Yes, there are certainly different grades of steel/metal depending on what your budget is. Some of the Russian pellet/BB pistols were made out of the real guns. I have a few.

No I don't. I had the opportunity several times to acquire one but I could never bring myself to "pull the trigger". I just felt they were over priced for what they are. About 3 years ago there was a fellow who had 3 in the box. He started off at around $400.00 each and couldn't sell them. He finally sold them for $250.00 or $275.00, something like that. I should maybe have bought one then.
You can actually buy the chrome version right now for $449.00.

I am not very well versed in air pistols, but I do have several CO2 BB pistols. I have 2 "1911" style, a non-blowback Luger style, a nice little PPK, and a plastic CO2 that looks much like a S&W 5946 that I carried for 17+ years. I enjoy blasting off a cartridge now and then.

Whatever you decide on, have fun!!

colt SSA 1873 by umerex ,177 call .very nice reproduction of the real colt 1873,weight and looks ,very accurate and a pistol you can enjoy indoors or out.

I have a Tau Brno and really like it.

Its both PCP and CO2 cylinders.

Found it used out of some obscure used stuff web site out of BC somewhere for $200 several years ago. It was neglected, but I took it all apart, cleaned it up and now its mint. Very accurate too.

Best value for the $$$ is the Beeman P17 (Chinese clone of HW 40)
Accurate, easy to use. Trigger that will be far better than pistols several times the price

Price is around 50$ Try airgun source, or canadianshooting supply

The Tau 7 is an excellent air pistol. I had one a few years back.

How is it a PCP? It has no reservoir for pressurized air. It's CO2 powered, either by cartridge or bulk tank.

There is a way but requires an adapter made by Mac 1, it allows one to use a 13 cu or smaller air tank threaded into the bottom of the handle.
