Once again thanks for all the replys. The rifle is a Savage long action. I don't know how to measure flash holes but I can easily stick one of those round toothpicks in this one with room to play. I haven't deprimed any of the others yet to check the difference.

I've got a Savage long action with a Timmney target trigger in it as well...set really light. It passes the bump test too, but....even if you think really hard about pulling the trigger, it'll go off. Just a light brush is all it takes. Anyway...case solved...next.

I blew a 44 cal hole in the roof of my tree stand while loading the rifle/chambering a round.

Stay off of the funny stuff
It's what almost all armies use for sniper rifle trigger pull and it's the upper middle value for a field trigger (2-5lbs).
You can check this fact: USMC M40 sniper rifles are set at 3.5lb and field modifications are banned as a consequence of too many accidental discharges.
Many shooter and hunters that I know lower their rifle's trigger pull in summer and crank it up again in winter because of lower sensitivity (cold and gloves).

Check the sear adjustment on the timney. In my stevens when I had one first installed, it was set for no creep. Passed the bump test every time, no matter how hard you hit it. But one out of three times it would go off when you closed the bolt, or took the safety off. I readjusted it and no more problems.
