What happened to my deer??? :o(

The deers IMO have a very short attention span, gun shots don't do a whole lot of disrupting unless it is constant repetitive shooting.Even then they will return after a while.

I have had them bust me in my stand and return an hour or two later.

I have bears and deer in my spot, they may not feed at the same exact time but they do not seem to push one or the other out of the area.

I am sure that your area and here in central Sask is much different in comparisons, but from my many years of watching and hunting deer it sure seems that environment as well as their natural cycle of rutting and reproduction dictate the movement. Food supply in my area is very constant and consistent so I cannot comment on that aspect.

They do likely the barley I put out for them though.

thanks buddy! but last year the bear deff drove away my deer

When I used to hunt in Duhamel about 10 years back, we saw nothing or very few deers..... but 2 weeks AFTER deer season, about 200 of them invade the village.......

Went out again tonight and not a thing again. But when I checked out my salt block there was an apple there. Turns out she who muct be obeyed had put some apples and carrots there and they got eaten. So they are coming into the bait just not when I am there. This weekend is my days off so will spend more time in the blind and see what happens.
Carrots are $6 bucks a bag.Seems fair enough comapred to no deer.

Get some coarse salt, the type used for pickling.

Sprinkle that around the ground, on your treat, whatever is there for the deers. It is much more natural than a salt block, although that does work also.

I have deer still picking at the soil the following summer trying to get those minerals out.

I think the deer are there, it's just a timing issue.Did you invest in a camera yet?

I got deer all over the place here, just outside of my crossbow range. Next week the .50cal is coming out..... I hope to fill the tag soon!

DEFF game cam. tons of good shots,,

Go for a walk and find them. White tails live their whole lives in a very small geographical area. They must be somewhere, so find out where that is.

When you go outside to check the deers they go in your house to warm up....

When you return home they go out and play! :)

BTW!! my deer are BAAAACK!!!! i started putting apples for them an dlo and behold, they came eating apples last night at 130 am there were 3 of them,,i didnt see any antlers in the picture, but the bucks gotta be close by! its ON! (again.,..

Give the buck a few more weeks!!

They will get there eventually, actually after the rut you should get some good picks of the bucks recovering and filling their bellies back up!

Sure, but watch your position in relation to the wind.

They may not be ready for estrous bait just yet but it can't hurt.

What they will likely respond to is some light grunting.

Great thanks! As for wind, I'm up in a tree, like 15 feet, about 20 yards away , so whatever the wind does I gotta pray for the best

So far no deer for me to see around here.Neighbour shot at something close by.How can a guy grunt with no call by the way.No time to go shopping right now.
