I find that traditional cup and core works just as well for many applications here in the east.

M77, a classic rifle, based on a great action. I was tupperware stock and tacticool guy until I discovered the M77 and .358 Winchester Round. There is nothing like taking to the field with a couple classics. Shoots great, looks awesome. Its ok to admit your dad's gun is cooler than yours and always will be.

Brother, your Fudd is showing!
Yeah, I like the M77... in the Mark II persuasion.
I would. Especially for the Gunsite Scout models.
A short barreled .308 with iron sights and detachable magazine seems near impossible to come by these days.
LOL.
I’ve always been quite fond of the M77. It was the first LH boltgun I bought myself, and I like a lot about the design. Have owned several over the years, but been without since selling the 375. Recently came into possession of a nice custom built on a LH M77 action. Krieger, McM, Cerakote, etc. Pretty excited to get it up and running!
If only you had a way to quantify that statement…..like a picture of a dozen rugers lined up in a row.
I’d like them to bring back the Frontier models. A .325 would crank my tractor.
Let’s see some pics! Sounds like a solid rifle
Love the Frontier rifles... currently have two in Target Grey, 7-08 and .358. They get in the bush alot.

I used to have an M70 feather weight in 6.5x55, wonderful rifle. The M77 mk2 is a more utilitarian in a boxy old SUV sort of way, I also love old Land Rovers so that may explain why I like the canoe paddle zytel stocked M77mk2 rifles. Very rugged purposeful rifles vs pretty curvy rifles.
When Winchester and Ruger came out with the 6.5 x 55 in Feather weight and the Mk II I was a young hunter looking for a new rifle. I settled on the Ruger with nicer wood and the deep dark blue finish. Bought it at Wholesale Sports & I had Custom Gun install open William sights on it.
Still have it. One of my favorite rifles to this day.
