what happened to the t97 posts

Spare me the BS. The only proactive thing they have done is hit our credit cards. They have done absolutely NOTHING to understand the delay or attempt to expedite it. They say they have received no communication yet never make any communication attempts themselves. There have been repeated statements that there should be no reason for the holdup yet here we are still waiting.

Why wouldn't I keep #####ing until some action is taken?

You have 60 days only to initiate a dispute. So if your card was charged on January 1st, you have until March 1st to dispute the charge. This is the case with Visa, I imagine MasterCard is similar.

That's not true.

The credit card dispute resolution system is a mutually agreed system of arbitration. It does not preclude seeking resolution in a real court.

There is a contractual agreement between CanAm and the buyer: a sum of money for a rifle.

If there is a breach of the contract, then that can be remedied in a real court (such as small claims court). The presence of an alternative mechanism of resolving disputes does not preclude other claims.
 
Well, you seem to know everything about me from your crystal ball so why should I even bother.

I don't care that the CBSA/RCMP are difficult. I don't care that they are hard-asses. This is not my f**king problem.

I care about the fact that my money has been taken and ZERO effort is being made to rectify the situation. This is my problem and I am trying to get CanAm to see that if they continue to fail to address consumer concerns they are ultimately going to pay the price with lost sales. For f**k sake, we are in the beginning of a recession and their response is "it's not our fault so we are not going to do anything about it".

Weren't we told that a deposit would be taken and then the balance would be taken at the time the rifles are ready to ship? Well, what the f**k happened? And still no offer to give back the money until they are released as suggested.

Everybody seems fine with saying it's not their fault. I agree that it isn't, but it doesn't absolve them from addressing customer concerns. Would you cut the same slack to any other company that was struggling with government bureaucracy or would you expect them to try harder? Am I asking so f**king much by asking them to try harder since taking our money?

You may enjoy getting jerked around, but I do not. And unless you are CanAm, don't bother telling me to cancel my order - they have yet to come out and say that they are willing to do this.

I think Can-am has an opportunity here to build some good customer relations.
Hows this!!

Refund everyone their money, except their deposit. When the guns come in, charge us then and ship the rifles within two-weeks.
You will have customers for life.


Original idea!! Not! every other company doesn't bill until rifles are in their shop!!
If you do this, I will sing you praises and buy from you going forward.

Stevo - You raise a good point. We try to discuss it in the CanAm sub-section (the logical choice) and it gets shut down. Anywhere else is an attempt to bury the issue so as not to piss off a sponsor. Why is that?
 
just a quick question for those upset about having their cc's charged while the guns are held up.

Have any of you written letters to your mps and public safety minister demanding to know why customs and the RCMP are dicking around? It's on all of us to let them know we are watching, and won't tolerate it.
