what i did to my 858 today

Just picked up the cz 858 last week, havent had a chance to let her rip yet. Drilled and tapped the handguards for the rails, that vertical grip is coming off; its terrible!Sorry about the size, i suck i know

looks like you saved $298.50 by not getting the vz tactical hand guard

now i gotta go finish sawing off the buttstock on my 858 so i can screw a door hinge on for a snazy folder

I must say that the addition of a short piece of rail is a good idea. It is simple and effective at the same time. The most I could see adding to the forend of a long gun is a light...so I can't see paying hundreds of dollars for a rail forend just to put a light on. Give yourself credit here, simple is sometimes the best way to go.

The grip on the other hand is well...ghey to say the least!

The rails look good for a light, but I prefer the "30rd" grip.

Hey man....Why don't you mount a rail to the bottom of the handguard and buy a foregrip that attaches to the rail.....It would be totally solid....I did this to my SKS and the foregrip doesn't move once its tightened on....

pretty much what I did with mine, but I have a barrel-mounted side rail... it's all very solid and works well, but I need a more 'tactically-colored' flashlight ....the blue just isn't doing it for me! (maybe I should look for one in the same blue-grey as the rest of the gun??!?)
