We here in B.C. are not allowed to give game meat away to the food banks as it is wild meat and therefore might not be good. Our meat cutters have to even have a seperate room to store the wild game so that it will not contiminate
the crappy beef that is pumped full of steroids etc. Also if the law checks your freezer and you have wild meat and no hunting license, cut tag you
are in big trouble also. There are thousands of road kills here yearly and they all have to be dumped. What a waste as there are poor people that would love some of it.Legally here you can not give wild meat away as far as I read the law. That is why I only shoot what I can eat.
As for the taste or Deer meat I have saerved it many times and never told the people that would not eat any Wild meat.I have never had a complaint and nearly everyone comes back for more.
We had about twenty people in one night ,a lot who said that they hated or would not ever eat dirty Deer meat.We switch plates and you should have seen the Deer meat get eaten up.We never told them tha difference.
