I know of a 30-06 1941 Johnson auto-loader, military, (hasn't been Bubba'd) with a very low three digit serial number(no letter prefixes).
The barrel has it's bayonet lug intact and the bore is pristeen .
The owner is looking for high dollar(how does one sell to the states?) or a trade for a very high-end Commercial Ross...preferably in 280 .
The stock is original with some storage dings .

No history that I've heard.
It just has the regular stamping on the reciever.....Johnson Automatic
Model of 1941
Made in Providence RI USA
It actually has a 4 digit serial number...if you count a "0" as a number , as in 0### .

I believe those ugly things go for 1.5-2K if in good shape, I don't know about the dif.variations.

Wow! I remember the "Outdoor Stores" listing these in their mail-order catalog for maybe $100. Of course those were the days when Lee-Enfields were mabye $20 apiece...

Many thanks ...I'll pass that on .

Forgot to mention, from the SN info, they can also tell you the serial numbers on all the major parts (as it left the factory) - bolt, barrel, etc, etc. The serial numbers on a Johnson are not the same like a Mauser, in fact None of them on a Johnson match. If you ever find a Johnson with "all matching numbers", it has been humped, and a few have turned up in the States over the years.

in Canada this would be a 1500 to 3500 dollar gun. they say there not importable to the US LEND LEASE? although people say they have. probably smuggled.

Not the case, the Johnson was never a US issued weapon like the Garand. It was used by the Netherlands and was hoped to adopted by the US but never was, the Garand won the contract.
You can export a Johnson to the US, Germany, etc.
If in doubt phone Questar for Export.

Didnt some special forces use them in Sicily and Italy?... Maybe the FSSF? or was that just his machine gun? Not issued but still used?
