What is an SKS D worth?

I realize that , but alot of folks don't i was just pointing out why the big bucks ,also have you ever bought an sks and asked a gunsmith to alter it to accept a magazine ? Here i found 1 willing to do it and he wanted 300$ so , 300$ plus 200 for gun in pristine shape = 500$ for a gun already altered , so to me it is worth 500$ , to someone else it's worth less or more depending on what they want to do with it :)

I don't really get it either , like some people already said the only different between the "D" and the reguar sks , is the detachable mag! If you really want a detachable mag tapco makes a really good duckbill one for a regular sks and you can get them for about 35 bucks , I have seen a guy on here that sells them.
I think it is just one of those guns that the community has over hyped and they are kinda rare so people will pay the money for them! I got one too but only paid 200 for it which I figured was fair! It's ok but there is no bolt latch on it so when the mag is empty it stays closed! I do not think that the "D" is really worth over 250! Just my 2 cents
 
I think it's just people wanting what they can't have. An ak47. And for a while, the sks-d was the closest(sort of) to the ak47 for cheap.

Now that the cz-858 is here, It's the closest to the ak47(in looks, and it's cheap)
So now the EE has SKS-Ds for sale by people who recently purchased a cz-858.
 
my decision to get a D model is that the particular D model i was after has the longest barrel availlable in the chinese sks platform. I am doing my own zastava sniper clone and it's based on the D version. and i personally prefer my rifles to have detach mags.... still not a believer in the tapco type mags... though some guys really like em..... guess i haven't really given them a fair shake to really have an educated opinion on them
 
a couple years ago SKS's were $130 and SKS D $175 at lever. I kept thinking about buying some but I was a poor student back then.

been kicking myself the last year after seeing prices for $400-600!.
