I have a hard time seeing 1911's at 500m, let alone shooting them. Especially in the summer with the longer grass.Personally I shoot 1911s at 500m.

I zero mine at 25 yards. With my average MV (12 inch barrel) it puts me aprox:
+1.09 at 75yrds
0 at 125 yards
-6.5 at 200 yards
I'm not sure what you're getting at but I post honest info. I'm too old and cranky to waste my time bulls**tting.![]()
Sorry stevo,
little pissy when i added my comment
Nothing in regards to you; just when you said you suck at the holdovers I though how rarely anyone on the internet admits to not being a total expert at everything.
The comment was entirely out of left field...nothing implied except general mockery of the various internet experts which populate every site I think I have ever seen.
Did you get that out of a ballistic program? Got any more data for other zero distances?
Yeah I got it from a ballistic program. It was a free online one, so I didn't bother to save any of the other data. I did test this zero at the distances noted and it worked fine as long as I did my part.
Thanks. I'll look it up. You said you were getting MV around 2150 fps, IIRC?
I sight in at 50 yards for my CZ858 and SKS. Only really because that's whats available. If my range had a center fire rifle 25yard range I'd probably go that route and get a little more distance out of my zero.
Well, you know how it is...if you already know everything, you never learn anything...
I generally prefer the guys who know what they know and know what they don't know. I am just consistently amazed at what a tiny percentage of people that is.
when you zero at 50, is your rear sight at 100 yds?
