I’ll am the winner of the CGN shield draw. Apparently it is made out of a piece of armour which is illegal to possess in Nova Scotia. HTTI is saying they can’t send it to me as it’s illegal in Nova Scotia. They haven’t offered any substitute. Their brain fart is to give it to a friend. Well my friends are also in Nova Scotia.
They should be offering a prize that is legal in all provinces of Canada not just some provinces or have a substitute prize available for those provinces where body armour is illegal. The size of this prize is smaller than my iPhone. Not going to protect much.

As explained our item is designed and intended to perform to level IIIA, regardless of it being small and called a memorabilia it does not exempt it from the Body Armor Control Act (Nova Scotia).

Panels or plates that meet any of the following criteria are prescribed as being included in the definition of “body armour”:

(a) they protect the body from projectiles discharged from a firearm or puncture or stab wounds

There is no size limit, and unfortunately a PAL is not valid exemption in Nova Scotia

We are a armor manufacture so the prize we offer are bullet resistant equipment, we were discussing possible solutions like sending its to someone who can accept it on you behalf, but you have asked us to stop messaging you.

Nowhere did it state in the OP to check your provincal laws. Funny something that barely would cover a left nut, would be considered "body" armour.

It wasn't being given away as body armour, It lacks a serial number, manafacture date, all required information that body armour is required as you know. No officer would arrest you for poession.

Did you get all the info required to sell/give to Jay?

You should be supplying a prize that is legal. And I said enough private messaging put it on your prize thread and let’s see what CGN members think. I can post pictures of our conversation if needed.

Yes you did say that, while we were trying to find a solution such as maybe sending it to a friend, you replied "Enough private messaging. My reply is in the prize thread. Let’s see what CGN members have to say." shutting down any further discussion. If you don't have anyone that we could send to we would have been glad to explore other options. You can post pictures if you like but this is the end of our discussion.

You haven’t offered any other options. I am going to be honest. I really don’t care if I get anything. It’s the principle of it. Way I see it you screwed up. Selling armour in Canada you should have known there was a possibility of prizes being won in provinces where the prize was illegal to own. You should have automatically had a backup prize or you should have put in a disclaimer stating not available in certain provinces

My first reply was asking if any of the listed exemptions applied to you.

You replied that we should have had a prize that legal and have a back up

My second reply was we manufactured body armor so we offer related prizes, agreed with you and stated that we will do better, and if you knew anyone that could accept it?

You proceed to shut the conversation down and post here.

I never had the chance to offer any options. We just wanted to get the basic question out the way, You called it "brain fart" but why wouldn't we ask a question that could have possibly solve the issue right away. At no point did we suggest you would get nothing or that we would move on.

We don't have any substitute as all the memorabilia was made to be bullet resistant. However as last solution we could make a really cool memorabilia item just for you, there would just be some waiting time as I put in the request and have it made.

Sounds interesting. Stepping up means something to me. Let know what you have in mind.
It was never hinted that we weren't going to step up.

For our 4th Anniversary memorabilia to you, were going to make a HTTI challenge coin made from a silicon carbide tile of our flagship Hard Plates. The tile alone is not bullet resistant, and will make for interesting prize and a peak of how we manufacturer our plates. I will PM you when i have these made. They are currently quite busy at our manufacturing facility, so please give me 2 - 3 weeks. Thank you
