What is your current (or past) hunting rig? I need ideas.

1992 GMC 4x4 reg cab, 8 ft box. with a 350 and auto OD.
Paid cheap for it, not worrying about scratches or dents from the bush, slide -in camper or towing the enclosed trailer/ camper trailer.
Spare parts cheap anywhere, ( i got 4 winter tires on rims for 40.00 total at a yard sale!)
Easy to fix too.

I used used to use a 1967 Land Rover but that was a little small and slow going on the highways, very capable off road though. Now we use a couple different mid-nineties F-250 4x4's that we have been buying for $2000-$3000. Nice easy to repair rigs that were inexpensive enough that you don't feel bad whatever you do to them. One has a 10ft camper in the back, it's old but tight and everything works and it was cheap so we don't worry much about it either.

We, too just use our regular chevy extended 1/2 ton 4x4 and found an older 16' trailer for 400 bucks. Couple weekends on it and we've a great hunting trailer with 3 way fridge, stove, warm place to poop, the table stays set up, and for that money we're not scared to drag it through a stream or down an ugly cutline trail. That poor ole trailer's been to all 4 corners of the province.
Only thing we changed is we bought a 3/4 size mattress for the wife & me, and we're going to purchase a propane heater as the factory "furnace" is designed for chilly nights in august. (we've been using catalytic heater early spring and winter)
Had if for about 3 yrs now, and no regrets. The 1/2 ton is my daily driver.

Days gone by we did the camper thing; only problems are the camper's on your truck, and your animals are in the camper.
It's always a trade off. Just gotta decide what's the lesser of the evils for you.
My dream setup would be an argo with trailer, tent, stove, the works, but I have no interest whatsoever in spending the kind of money it would take to do that.
