What is your favorite milsurp?

Just thought we need a few more pictures ....

Either my Portuguese Mauser-Vergueiro M1904/39 or my K31 (with nods out to my Steyr M95 Police Carbine, my Arisaka Type 99 and my Soviet M91 Infantry Rifle).

If handguns are included I would have to say my favourite milsurp handgun is the Husqvarna M1907, its just a simple reliable handgun which probably goes down in history as being the only handgun reissued during peacetime some 30 years after it was replaced.

Love all my milsurps but really appreciating my most recent purchase, an M95/34 carbine that I got from Trade Ex right before they sold out. Though if I could only keep one in the collection it would naturally have to be my great grandfathers K31 service rifle. Love shooting them all either way.

My 1903 Springfield is creeping up on the 1910 Ross.

Went out shooting with some guys from work the other day and the Ross was not wanting to feed very smoothly. It would fire and hit what I was aiming at with the open sights, but cycling the bolt resulted in more jams than not. But the 1903 was smooth as butter!

And the Mosin, well after shooting it along side the 1903 and 1910, I'm not sure why I even own it........

I like the G43, it is a POS rifle that blows up if it isn't modified properly but for me it is my favourite. I fell in love with 8mm Mauser when I started shooting and I already enjoyed the history and my grandfathers stories of the war. The G43 became a elusive out of reach thing for me and when I finally got my own it was great, I restored my first one and started collecting them. My biggest regret is selling that first one I got, I became very paranoid about Semi's and let a bunch of stuff go, I'm slowly rectifying that.

Nothing seems to top the balance and handling of an SMLE wearing all it's wood. The K31 is just a darling at the range though, comes a reasonably close second I think. I find the Mosin in all it's variations a fairly interesting piece, functional, simple and accurate (mostly). The trigger and short stock drop it out of contention as a front runner for myself. Looking forward to firing the M95/34, nearly have all my ducks in a row on that one, just need to steam out the crooked butt on my example now...

My collection of SMLE’s ranging from a trials version to one of the last Lithgow s’ s (stock carved by Pavey Percy). I’m always looking for more, I just got a P13
