^^^^^^^^^THIS IS SOOOO TRUE^^^^^^^^^ I have tried to like it, handled it many times and still come away with the impression that its crap! Oh well, to each their own.

I owned mine for a week and sold it even before I shot it. I take a SKS over it any day. Fact it was machined worst then a AK47

I looked very close at one, cause I wanted a small, lighter .223 Semi that accepted pistol mags. Ended up going with a VZ58 and putting the Magwell adaptor and its been an Awesome, accurate, fun rifle that although its not true RED rifle being a .223 its a tip of the hat to the 7.62x39 predecessor's. Still love my SKS's though, if fact I have been thinking I need to buy another to shoot with irons, I have my Drilled and tapped Choate mounted SKS that is my Shooter, My all original 49 Tula, but thinking I need another iron sighted SKS for the stable!! Cant have enough of the old Reds!!

I owned 4 SKS, one being a SKS D, 1 VZ 58, 1 CSA 556, 2 Mosins 91/30, a T97. Currently a Custom Mosin. I moved on cheap ammo guns. Mainly it aint worth the cleaning and picking thru non steel core ammo.

My neighbor has one, they are a fairly decent gun when you put the flat top rail on them, the only thing I hate about them is the trigger, water guns have better triggers than that thing does lol

Median individual income is $27,600 in Canada making $800 considerably more than half a week's wages. Lets presume that half a weeks wages was $30 in 1965 for median individual income, in that case the $30 firearm is more affordable.

A $30 firearm in 1970 equates to $180 today or so. The price of a refurbished SKS.. no surprise.

Median individual income isn't really a valid reference point anyways. It has been shown that firearms owners in Canada are more often than not middle income earners or above.

They didn't used to be as much though.

Either way, point being of all of this, that SKS and Mosin's were likely made in far higher quantities than the various collector milsurps we see now... at least that's my understanding. Anyone care to confirm or deny?

everybody and their dog owns an ar 15..... Buying qismos and screwing them onto your black rifle is one thing..... But brainstorming, fabricating and carving out custom parts for your red rifle with your bare hands to make it unique, badass looking, and function better is totally in a different class. I could sell my svt 40 dragunov, sks and my vz 58 akm clone for a bunch more than what i got into them ... But id never consider selling something i got that much pride and sweat into :) an ar 15 with a flashlight on it ? No different than selling a barbie doll.

nice!!!
