what is your go to rimfire

My go to .22, 10/22 of course, big fun with the 25rd mags. Aftermarket everything other than bolt(polished), receiver and trigger housing. Bushnell 4-12 and I aluminum block bedded and put a rear holddown in stock, rear 2" of barrel epoxy bedded, it shoots!!!!

Go to gun?
My Squires Bingham model 20 that I bought new in '85. 10s of thousands of rounds through it and never any problems nor ever had to buy a part for it. The only thing I bought for it was the extra 30 round steel mag for walking the fields and not having to reload as often.

My do not go to gun?
My 10/22 that I'm still working the bugs out of

For indoor pest removal (ie. in barns/farm buildings) - Ruger Single Six

For in-close pest removal and general carry on the farm - 9422

If something really small needs to be dead - CZ452

Different guns...different stuff

10/22 bought in 1985 and still box-stock. Shot it without scope to chase bush bunnies hiding under Christmas trees in the Forestry Reserve. Now with a Bushnell 4x RF scope.

CZ 452 Luxus Walnut stock bought in 1986. Originally shot it without scope and found the iron sights worked well out past 100+ yards with the right ammunition on gophers. Now with a Leupold 3-9x AO Compact scope. Also it shoots subsonic 22s very well.

CNo.7 1945 dated. Lots of fun and very accurate. Since it's a single shot cheap to shoot. Comes with matching number transit case and accesories. Got it from a buddy years ago who wanted it to go to a good home. He got it in Winnipeg...apparently these were surplused...and never shot it. Was still in the grease.

Also...

Remington model 12 pump. Needed a new mag tube which I replaced, but I havn't been able to get the bolt back in...so it's still not working...but I'll figure it out

Remington 514. Bought it as a project to give to my daughter when she was born. Steel and barrel was all VG. Stripped the stock and refinished. Looks very nice and like new.

Winchester 67. Another refinish project still in progress.

FWIW I've always had good/best success with Federal HP ammunition.
