I shoot a 20 gauge O/U, my partner uses a 1100 12, and my son shoots an Express in 12 - sometimes we use 2 3/4" , sometimes 3".
Shoot what you like and have fun.
Everything kills well if you are within your decoy range and lead them properly!
Great catch and picture there CAT ... I own a pump, single shot and a bolt action ... just wondering about a semi-auto now ... my go-to gooser is my Maverick 88 ...
I use a 12 ga. Winchester Model 12 28" VR modified choke, 2-3/4" for most all my goose hunting. I shoot over decoys so don't bother with 3" shells anymore. Sometimes I pull out one of my 16 ga o/u guns for variety. Cat said it well...
I have a Winchester Super X2 and it has fired thousands of rounds through it without a single hiccup. Very reliable gun, and it puts up with a lot of abuse, with very little cleaning.
Was a Beretta Extrema II w/KO and loved it...hammered the geese and ducks with it. Alot of the 3 shots 3 birds with it...but I let it go and decide to drop the bird hunting
I keep it simple. Given the abuse my gun goes through it's either an 870 or Nova. Back-up gun for clients with Auto's that quit is an old beat up Express.
