What is your most recent hunting rig purchase.

The .25-35 Miroku on the EE has been giving me fits. Been trying to drastically simplify my chamberings not add curiosities… but boy am I curious.

Going forward 25-35 is discontinued in the 94 Carbine (Miroku) Winchester. Only 30-30 & 38-55. The 94 Short & Takedown adds 450 Marlin as well. (Prices start around $1700 + tx and go up from there). Win levers are getting mighty costly.

Thanks fellas! Pretty pleased with its maiden voyage, loaded a random charge of H1000 behind 160gr AB’s, -15c with a hell’ova windchill.

I’ll take it!

I'm not hunter and I don't hunt due to my religious beliefs but I can't pass on a few nice hunting rifles. I'm not against any hunters by any means, Buddhist is not againt hunting but well my wife told me not to hunt but I can buy any rifles I want to.

Here are my favorites that I just bought.

Nice .35 Rem, never tried one, always liked the look of the cartridge. Got the .257 Roberts 1A to the bush today for some irons fun, she’s a sweetheart and managed to hit a shoebox far further than it had any business doing with irons.

What a gem!!

^ would be cool to a thread reviewing/ range report on it

I have not had an opportunity to really shoot for accuracy yet but I did load up some 180 and 220 grain partitions over max loads of H1000. The 180s are very accurate, 220 seemed less so but were real thumpers at ~3000 ft/sec and probably not required for most of the game I come across. Initial sight loads seemed around 1.5 MOA, which if true is awesome for a semi. The only thing I didn't like is that the fore stock feels a little bulky compared to my bolt Sauers. Anyways popped her cherry on a really nice 6 foot blackie. Frontal shot with 180 grain partition(300 Win Mag) ~ 3340 ft/sec at 100 yards, he made it about 10 feet before crumpling. The bullet was a complete pass through, blew the heart in half and the exsanguination was massive. I am going to say the rifle and load are keepers. I will probably use the combo on my next Elk hunt and if I ever have a chance to go on a driven boar hunt, this is the rifle I'm taking :)
