I finally put a steel clanged plate at 300 yards on the range just off my deck, and I’ve
taken a few shots just to see where my POI is.
My shots are usually much, much less than that. Last year I shot my deer at 12 feet
out of my stand. The deer before that was shot at maybe 30 paces from the same stand.
I did hit a deer on the run last fall, and am pretty pleased with myself as a result of that.
Wouldn’t have taken the shot, but my neighbour had already wounded it and it was heading
for parts unknown…
The longest kill was an absolute Hail Mary at a gopher at 300(?) yards with a .22
