3 yards ? really? You getting it on the paper from there? LOL
Re: 3 yds: A guy at the range scoffed when I suggested shooting at 3 yds as I handed him the target I made. His smile disappeared when I told him to fire 5 rounds into one hole. Not a larger hole with chunks of paper inside, but one, slightly enlarged bullet hole.Usually 10 yards. I really should be moving up though. I guess when I hear "3 yards" I dismiss it because it sounds laughably close, but yeah. My groups even that close are nothing to write home about.
Been shooting a long time. My best is 3 in one hole at 10ft. I have shot a clean Dot Torture though.Re: 3 yds: A guy at the range scoffed when I suggested shooting at 3 yds as I handed him the target I made. Shooting tree at 25 yards. 12" plate for faster shooting at 25 yards. I don't shoot paper anymore unless it's 200 yards away.
Your range allows you to shoot their trees?
Yes. Perhaps the internet mutes my tone and inflection. It's called a Duelling Tree. They are metal plates on a stand that flip when hit.

I don't think I have heard of this Dot Torture test.... never tried it...
but think I will...
Like to add... it would be nice if there was a thread or site.. where a person could look up instructor that might be close to where they live or shoot.
Type Dot Torture into Google. Designed by Todd Green (RIP) from pistol forum.
The best handgun combo drill package around imo.
