What kind of terrain do you hunt in?

',m
Usually wide open prairie / farm land, but often into the mountains too.

It's no wonder sum of you prairie boys can realy shot I never shot past 200 yards in northern BC
Most time can't see much past that and the trees get in the way

If I had to guess I bet Scott's Tikka is a 270WSM. Seem like that cartridge would be ideal for the Prairies.

You are correct on the rifle sir! I bought the 270 WSM specifically because I usually hunt areas where a longer shot might happen, but that I could still use for elk in the mountains on occasion. I still own a 30-06 and a 338 WM, but almost always hunt with the Tikka these days.

While the prairies are indeed beautiful in their own unique way, I sure am envious of some of the places other guys call their backyards.

I hunt open hardwoods and flat farm land of South western Ontario and a few places in northern Ontario that sport some extremely thick bush and steep contours
