What lube do you use?

Where do you guys find 99% iso in Canada?
I know I can get Iso heet in the auto section of Crappy Tire but I'm assuming some pharmacy must sell it.
Anyone know where I can score some in either Montreal or Eastern Ontario?

I buy it at Walmart.... In their pharmacy dept.
$4.99 for 500ml.

A can of Vaseline from the dollar store. And I don't care to clean it off, I leave it right there. Lubes my action, too :)

I lube 100 to 200 cases at a time. Put the cases in a plastic pail, smear a 1 inch worm of Lee lube around the inside of the pail, put on the lid and swirl for 30 seconds. cases are now all lubed with a tich in the case mouth.

Lee lube is water soluble and wipes off with paper towel easily.

Been doing exactly the same for many years, only difference is that I use a Margarine tub. :)

Not removing lube is a personal choice, however, tests have proven that leaving it on increases bolt thrust substantially. This could prove dangerous in some applications.
The famous test By P.O. Ackley, published with pictures in his books, shows the effect on the 30-30 Winchester.
He fired (remotely) a model 94 Winchester with the bolt stop removed and the case dry. No serious issues. Then repeated it with the case lubed. This blew the action open.
I've not read the piece for a bit, going by memory.

X2 I understand the conventional wisdom regarding lubing chambers is "don't do it".

Lubes can be made using anhydrous lanolin (a wax) or jojoba oil (also a wax). I don't know for sure but I'd guess these may be the primary ingredient in some of the commercial brands. A bottle (500 ml) of 99% rubbing alcohol with a 4 oz bottle of anhydrous lanolin mixed in makes a great spray lube (lifetime supply).

You find this gets enough lube in the case mouth?
