Well I've owed Glocks and shot just about every model there is and I have sold every one I purchased ---- but I still have 2 reliable old 1911's in my safe

That's funny. I have yet to see a 1911 that hasn't choked on the range under ideal conditions. including Springfield, Colt, Norinco, Kimber, even STI guns. To each their own.

How are Glock enthusiasts "Kool-aid drinkers" when we have plenty of evidence and experience to back up our claims? I am not an operator pushing my pistol to the limit but my Glock is the only pistol I have owned that went bang EVERY time. I believe the AK\AR analogy says it best.
actually compared to the MP series and the XD series I think the glock looks the best and the MP the worst.
The grip angle on Glocks is identical to 1911 style pistols. The difference comes in the contour which throws most folks for a loop. Then again, many who "try" a Glock and are die hard 1911 fans will naturally find something wrong with it to justify their decision.

I actually think Tommy Lee Jones is responsible, in the movie US Marshalls he told that nice drug addict kid (forget the actors name) to "get rid of that nickle plated sissy pistol,(it was a Taurus, I believe) and get yourself a Glock". How much more of an endorsement could one possibly ask for. I think Glock is the only gun company that actually does product placement promotion in movies and TV. With the exception of Kimber slipping a 45 into CSI: Miami on little blondie's hip, surprise move from Kimber and very smart. It probably cost them a fortune.
Yes, because other handguns, with their 2 or 3 controls are oh so complicated......![]()
IMO, if one finds a gun with a manual safety to be too "complicated" to use, he/she has no business shooting guns period (regradless of whether he/she is a "noob"). Inability to perform a simple finger movement necessary to lower a safety lever is a sign of either severe physical handicap or extreme mental retardation.^
NooImplying a lack of experience.
No one is saying the 1911 is hard to use... but for a NOOB (someone who has never touched a gun in their life) the Glocks are pretty easy to pick up and shoot.
