I picked up a Ruger carbine in 44mag from this site back in the spring.
I've found that my eyes are not so good anymore and I have trouble using the nice appature sight system that it came with. I fear I will have to mount an optical sight on it to take advantage of it as a 100 yard deer rifle.
I have never used the "red dot" or "quick point" type of sights. Are they any good?
Other option is a 2.5 power bushnell that has been on my 12 ga slug gun.
Any one with experience scoping a Ruger .44 carbine?
