"What release agent should I use?

There was the one time hawk-i ... using Pam spray if I recall ... when she wouldn't let go for love or money.
Went friend-shopping to find a freezer long enough to cold soak it into submission. Hard pounding. No fun.

Ever since that misadventure, I monitor the cure. When the leftovers get hard enough that a thumbnail won't dent the epoxy, usually about 5-6 hours, the guard screws get marked for position, loosened ... the BA is tapped lightly from the underside to release ... guard screws regreased and retorqued back to their mark.

Sometimes the alarm clock is needed, no biggie, it's hard to sleep soundly during a bedding job anyways.

guard screws regreased and retorqued back to their mark.

That usually does not give the best stress free bedding job. Actions bend very easily. It is better if the action just lays there with no screws or clamps while the bedding cures.

You caught my poor wording guntech . There should be no screw tension on the bedding while it cures, thanks for correcting my goof.
I use the screws, left loose, to align the action in the stock. They are index marked at a point just before they begin to take any pull on the receiver. It is this point they are returned to after the release has been confirmed while the epoxy is fairly hard, but not yet fully cured .

Actions do bend easily, it is not so easy to get that perfect square fit ... where nothing moves at all when action screws are snugged and loosened.

Thanks guys, your comments are greatly appreciated.
I removed the barreled action from the stock (at about 5 1/2 hrs of cure) and it took a pretty good rap with the non-rebound hammer to come free. The Devcon bedding looks perfectly smooth and all edges are sharp with 100% contact and no bubbles or voids. I cleaned up all the over flow and set the action back in the stock with the screws only having the slack taken out with NO torque what so ever on the action, will let it sit for a few days and then decide what route I want to go with the trigger.
thanks again.
