Figured this would be a fun one but what type of even do you enjoy shooting and what do you shoot!

Photo of the rifle always welcome but not required an if you want feel free to include your ammo choice and groups. However this is not a post to figure out what selection might work best for a particular brand because as we all know this never works and its about testing ammo in your own rifle and find what works best for you and your combo.

Examples being Benchrest 25m or 50m, 100m targets, NRL22/Rimfire PRS, ELR Rimfire, Plinking or hunting ?

I will add a rifle photo later but I currently shoot a LH T1X sitting in a T3X LH CTR stock. I have yet to find the ammo it really loves but it just means I get more range time ;) Does good with most ammo at closer ranges but the 100m is what I am currently chasing with potential to add in some 25m/50m Benchrest style shooting in the future.

EDIT! This is about your rifle and what you enjoy shooting I am not after what shoots best in yours so I can try it in mine. I used a bad title idea for this post and have corrected it to reflect the intent.

Cheers,
B

Summary of the many threads we've already survived is that you have to try various kinds of high-end and mid-market ammo to see what your particular barrel likes, then try to buy up more from the same manufacturing lot. Hopefully there's something it likes that isn't too crazy expensive! Lapua, SK, Eley, and RWS are examples of the good vendors. CCI Standard Velocity is the baseline where you probably need something better but don't even bother with anything worse.

Over on the other side of the fence, something similar applies to what feeds cleanly in a semiauto where just getting .22LR ammo that does that reliably makes people a lot happier. You generally need a bolt gun to be able to focus on accuracy, although a high-end 10/22 clone or similar can cover both bases.

I totally agree that ample selection is required for testing in ones own rifle. That's not my intention with this post so maybe I should rewrite it.

I am not trying to get recommendations as I am already mid ammo testing selection for 100 Yards currently. Just wanted to give everyone a chance to post a photo for their rifle and potentially a target. As I am a photo person myself plus Its a nice way to see a comparison between say some benchrest setups vs the RIMFIRE PRS stuff.

I will add an edit.

I shoot .22 silhouette matches hosted by a local club and my own club. You have 4 stations distanced 25, 50, 75 and 100yds. They consist of 10 small steel targets plus a swinging sighter plate. The target sizes vary between stations. A timer is set then you have unlimited sighting shots on the swinger and one round per target for score until the buzzer goes.

I use a CZ 452 lux with irons when I'm feeling like a challenge (I even won once), it shoots well enough with Aguila std velocity yellow and blue box. I also use a CZ 457 scout which sits in a full size Canadian stock topped with a Nikon rimfire 3-9x40. That one shoots reasonably well with CCI std velocity. I like the quick dope adjustments you can make with the Nikon phone app and reticle. Nothing fancy, I know but it's lots of fun and gets the shooters in my family out for a day at the range.

ive probably spent more time behind a 22 than most. this is my range. gophers were a real problem 2 springs ago, and this spring aswell. so i built a real nice 10-22 with an IBI bbl and grey birch bolt

Sorry, I rewrote it a little bit to sort out the confusion. Just getting into rimfire competition world and want to see what events people are enjoying.

Cheers,

horseman2 is on his way to lecture you that nothing other than a pack of good ammos matters in any discipline. :)

Plinking steel, bench, off hand. Some small bore F class, I say some, as we have to shoot prone off a bench, so it tweeks my back and neck.

This thread interests me as I don’t know a thing about any of the .22 shooting sports .
What would be the best website that lets one know about all of them ?

I do however know about hunting grouse .
