What scale do you use?

Cheap electric scales are a waste of time and $. Evidence this thread.

If you're going to buy digital then spend the money to get a scale that won't piss you off. There are applications where cheap electronics are perfectly ok, but precision scales is not one of those.

Ohaus 5-0-5
Do have an older RCBS 'lecktric kawmbow yewnittz and whilst
I do enjoy it, I can't seem to ruhmember oww to gitz it gewn'in
each time.
Beemerzs werks each and every time without much tawt involved.

Vintage Lyman / ohaus 10-10 and rcbs 5-0-5
Can't beat a quality beam scale imo.

Like yomomma I also have a diy auto trickler. Makes it super fast, easy and accurate. And cheap as well :)

My reloading room work-shop is 100% LED lights.
Got rid of old fluorescents long time ago.
Preferably, you don't want fluorescents around any type of electronic scale.
The radio waves fluorescents create are potentially no good.

I ran a RCBS Chargemaster for 7 years and it never gave me one iota of grief.
The RCBS was an damn dependable, but not nearly as fast and accurate as my upgrade to an AF fx-120i and Autotrickler V3 this past spring.

However, unlike my old RCBS, my fx-120i seems be highly sensitive to "dirty power."
I found the new (and very expensive) lab balance was performing terribly at first.
The zero was constantly wondering up and down.

I took the advice of other CGN'ers and invested in a UPS system that also fixed the sine wave issue that I most certain that I had.
The system runs flawlessly now.

Once you work out any potential kinks, NOTHING will outperform an AD fx-120i and Autotrickler combination for accuracy/repeatability and speed !

Right there with ya, except mine hails from 1977, so 43 years and still going strong. I might also add that I don't load more than a couple boxes at a time so a bit slower is ok for me compared to digital scales.

I am in the same boat as you guys, but longer. Can you believe since 1972 and also still working perfectly. I load about 4000 rounds a year and use an almost as old Lyman 55 measure ( love that thing).

Thats great, I actually use a Lyman 55 powder thrower as well, same vintage as my scale, still works perfectly.

I have three scales: RCBS balance, Lyman digital and Gempro 300. My old Lyman did it's job, however the Gempro is my go-to scale, it is most precise and consistent.

I used an Ohaus 5-0-5 for 40 years with a Ohaus powder measure for large batches. Have a RCBS Chargemaster now but still use the 5-0-5 for small reload sessions. Love the RCBS unit, very accurate when warmed up.

I have two- a very old Redding and an Ohaus, both work superbly. the Redding was my father's, and I can remember using it as a very young lad along with his lyman 55 measure which I also still use along with my Harrel.

I too use my father's Redding balance beam scale. Close to 60 years old, still works fine.
