I mounted a Bushnell Elite tactical 5-15X40 ( mil.dot ) on a new Ruger No.1 in 6.5 creedmoor.I bought the scope new after it was discontinued several years ago but it matched the 1 inch rings that came with the rifle.I plan on just using it for bench shooting with reloads ( my primary hobby ).

It cost about 5 x the OP's $700 budget, but in my view the ultimate crossover long-range hunting / precision rifle scope is the Vortex Razor AMG 6-24x. Designed from the round-up to be the lightest full-featured precision scope on the market at 28.8 oz, the Razor AMG is manufactured completely in the USA at a dedicated, advanced manufacturing facility. No other scope that I have compared can come close to the performance-to-weight ratio. At $3500 It isn't cheap, but it all depends on how much importance you place on that once in a lifetime, make-it or break-it shot....

Yeah, maybe they will up their budget from $700 to $3500 and jump on that.

He asked what other people are running or what they recommend, not necessarily which scopes fall within his $700 budget. Others in this thread have recommended Schmidt and Bender PM IIs, which cost even more than the Vortex. Your sarcasm directed specifically towards me is therefore both unnecessary and unwelcome, while contributing absolutely nothing of value to the discussion. Way to go upping your post-count though....

Unwelcome attention on a public forum... imagine that. I already posted an appropriate response, I guess you didn't read all the posts...

So, there is this thing called an ignore list.. One of the best things Ive done after too many years on too many forums is use the thing. Id suggest it..

Holy Scheeit dudes let it go...

I appreciate all of the helpful comments so far.

Thanks and keep them coming...

I have no 6.5 Creedmoor, but I run that excellent VX3i 4.5 -14 x40 CDS on my 257 Weatherby.
Really like it for all practical uses.
My 6.5x55 M700 Classic wears the same optics, except it's the 3.5-10 x 40 version. Dave.

Thats a pretty badass scope, I wasn't even aware of it. Maybe if I get around to getting a 65 Creed I will look at one! thanks for sharing.
