What should i buy glock, sig or 1911

Gen 4 Glock 22 if you are going to buy just one. Buy an extra match barrel if you are concerned about case support and/or accuracy.

I have a G17 and G21 with extra Lone Wolf threaded barrel and compensator. I plan to mostly shoot .45 acp cast reloads through the LW barrel.

Gawd, if this is your first gun, pony up & buy the SIG! A Glock for your first is like losing your virginity to an ugly chick.

Nobody wants that.

How about Gen4 Glock 22 and a SIG 1911 ;)

Had a few P226's but just didn't like them, still have Sig 1911 and it's a sweet pistol and gen4 G22 is just an awesome gun. It's not Beretta 92 ###y, but still a very handsome is a no BS, pure business way. :)

Perhaps. But is will be an low maintenance ugly chick that will stand the test of time and will leave a smile on your face.

Unlike a relationship, you can buy another later on and still keep the boringly reliable G22.

Sig Sauer!

I love my Sig 1911. I tried selling it once, but thankfully two buyers backed out and I kept it. I would have been so sad if it was gone. I don't enjoy shooting .45ACP, so I've got a .40 super barrel I'm going to give a try.

Pfft. You remember the first girl that kibbled your bits, don't 'cha? But the second one? I'm not sure I even come up with her name.

Don't buy a sig unless you shoot one. Hands down one of the worst pistols I've shot as far as a "speed and accuracy" gun is concerned. The slide and action resemble that of a howitzer. Far too much weight in the action and kicks unnecessarily heavy for what you want.

I'd also look into an XD if you're looking at glock. I prefer the XD personally. 1911 is my favorite choice out of the ones you have mentioned. For god sakes don't buy a para.

Yes, all of you SIG diehards can flame away at my hate for sigs. PERSONALLY I cant stand the damn things. I've used a sig for duty for 5 years now and I still hate it. I shoot it because I carry it. In my opinion, a SIG 226 has no home other than a duty holster.

Hmmm, I can punch a 2 inch hole from 25 yards with my bone stock P226 DAK. If this thread lasts long enough every model from every manufacturer will be hated on. GunfighterAlpha did have a little bit of good advice though, handle a bunch of guns and shoot them if you can. My first pistol was a SIG P226 and I bought one with no experience with SIG whatsoever and I love it.

Personally, I cant shoot the damn thing lol. I'm proficient with it, but as far as my hands are concerned, they hate it. Easy to strip, easy to use. All in all a good firearm yes. I just find it is a different beast compared to almost any other pistol due to its high bore axis and overly large slide.

By all means if it works for you, great. That's why there are so many different styles and brands to choose from. No one is the same.

As stated above, if at ALL possible, shoot as many guns as you can, even ones you currently aren't considering. You may just stumble across the gun that's made for you.

Not intending to hijack, but how do you like the DAK - I'm thinking of getting a 229 DAK, primarily for a consistent trigger pull. The DA/SA transition has never been a strong suit for me.

I've used the sig in 9mm and it was fantastic, i have a ruger sr9 and would definitely consider an sr40 after shooting it and one of the guys in my club (Bonneville) has nothing but excellent things to say about the Jericho's in 40s&w.

Best is to try them all unless you are rich or luv EE.

Each mfr is different, try Glock, Beretta, CZ, SIG, 1911, ...
Gonna fit like a glove if you want a shooter, doesn't matter what it looks like. Envision walking into Staples asking for a pretty hole puncher, duh!

For looks I like my Beretta 92F and SIG Scorpion.

I found over the years my tastes changed. My first pistol was and still is a Beretta 92FS, purchased in 1992. Still have it but I like my Colt Commander more now. I also had a Springfield 1911 race gun when I was shooting a lot of IPSC. Something about 1911's, great grip angle, easy to handle, Big Smiles.!. I have recently picked up a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm because it feels SO GOOD in my hand, and I wanted a plastic gun, and the Glock, just does not fit me, even the new generation with the interchangeable backstrap.

I really like the DAK trigger. It's a smooth pull. I don't like transitioning from DA to SA, so at the range I just shoot SA with my DA/SA SIGs. I also tend to shoot my DAK more as you can get more of a surprise break with the longer trigger pull.

true dat...whatever fits you best, both financially and personally (grip, etc.). Glocks are a good first gun all around; cheap, reliable, and plentiful. Pick one up, you can always trade it for something else on CGN if you get bored.

What?!?!?. I think the opposite. Id trust a striker fire pistol over any other design. Especially for reliability

in 25 yrs shooting pistols, I had 3 (three) internal strikers broken on three diff manuf, but NEVER happened with an external hammer...so far I can talk ONLY about my personal experience and not from some internet BS info.
