Guys,

This thing is marked G41, but it has a bolt and is semi-auto. What is it worth?

You gotta be feakin kidding me!!
As tiriaq stated, it's not only a G41 but the rarest of the G41s, a Mauser G41!!
Steppenwolf, is this your rifle? If so, nice find!!
Is it all matching?
I do know that an all matching G41M will fetch around $5000.00US and up in the States (the highest I've seen was around $14,000.00.)
Pricing in Canada maybe a little varied, but due to the rarity, I would think not by much, but that's just a guess because I've never seen one up for sale in Canada.

you need a synthetic stock and a scope, that'll make it worth something...

Naw! Just cut down the wood and he can drill and tap her and he'd have a real nice deer rifle. Make sure you sand off all of those ugly markings and you can dremel off those ugly swastikas:p

Holy crap, nice catch.

The G41 was made in very limited numbers and few examples still exist. Other than small number issued to elite units such as paratroopers, most of the G41's would have been issued on the Russian front. By 1943/4 these would have been mostly lost through battle field attrition.

And those are Walther G41Ws.
Just give you an idea of the rarity of the Mauser G41:
Approx. 128,000 Walther G41W were produced.
Only approx. 6700 Mauser G41M were produced.

I saw one in about the same condition, if the bore is fine, in Hawaii a couple of years ago. The owner said it was the centerpiece of his WW2 German collection. This guy is like Koldt, lots of pristine stuff, I was extremely lucky to see "some" of his collection, which is in an underground vault. He takes his collecting very seriously and stated that the rifle was worth $10,000US. I wouldn't know, but this fellow didn't have any qualms paying premium prices for premium pieces. He also did some work for the US gov't dureing the mid fifties, as a young man, searching out different german weaponry, some of the "surplus to needs" firearms stayed with him. All perfectly legal of course. In his eighties now, his son and grandson are planning on keeping the collection together and in the family. Steppenwolf, I don't know where you aquired (hopefully) that rifle, but it is quite rare and unusual in such nice condition. Usually they have badly pitted bores from the corrosive ammunition they used and because of the harsh conditions they were issued under. Great find, congratulations. bearhunter
