There's a suggestion I'll follow up on. You mean one of those south american winchester knock-off's, right?
I did check into those a bit and found a couple of writers who noted they kicked hard - I guess due to the higher pressures of a handgun round - and I didn't think much of the finishing. Still, worth another look I guess.
I've been reminiscing about my Ruger wheelgun. Years ago (before it was stolen and the police wouldn't do a thing to get it back from where I knew it was - another story...), I used to sit and have coffee whilst potting gophers out the kitchen window. It was fun, didn't hurt anyone and a nice way to drink a pot of coffee.
Anyway, back then I roamed around with it every so often to friend's places shooting gophers mostly. Just for the heck of it. Went to talk to the local Sergeant (back when the GRC's were something else) and he told me he didn't give a rat$ ass, just don't be waiving it around so I get any complaints. Said he'd be more worried about me with a 12 ga. than a medium revolver. Sensible.
What the he__ happened?
