What to do when you come across a tree stand?

I think you have missed the recurring them in this thread that people who have put up a stand and set up a cam and or bait station feel they have done "work"...

I wonder if they can comprehend how much "work" it is to buy a couple thousand acres to hunt on, then pay taxes, then still not own the animals on it? Probably not.

Lol... I own ten... Was the best I could do... And have 400 of permissions based on helping neighbors harvest, slaughter, trim, cut etc... Not to mention the wood I have sawed, cut, delivered and stacked from my own property to theirs... Couldn't agree more...

the recurring theme I see is that of other hunters feeling so entitled that they would not hesitate to take, damage, remove or interfear with others property and hunts in the bush because they feel if you leave a personal piece of property unattended or are there first you have wronged them.

Look out, now we are on the "I do more work for the hunt than you!!" attitude, this obviously makes one hunter far superior to the next.
I think it is great that hunters are willing to put in "work" on crown land and will not interfear with any of their personal property. Do you complain to when these guy puting in "work" cut open a grown in road in the off season so everyone hunting benefits? Do you also curse the guy who got up earlier than you and only to cut 10 windfall trees off the road wasting his morning hunt so you can just drive by him as he is putting away his saw?

Not at all , because I am that guy that goes and clears the trail and , gets up early and has the saw. :)

Makes it easier for the CO to reach your stand also when someone GPS's your location and makes false claims that you are poaching. ;)

My my my.........there are enough responses here to start a tree fort series on television.
Get all the pros and cons lined up and put them together on different parcels of land.
Match the head strong personalities.........aka...............butt heads and lett'r riiiiiiiipppppppp.........
YAHOO.......weeeeeeez gotta new premiere.

Dewwable?

With an atttitude like this about crown land, I wouldn't feel one bit sorry for you when you come to find your stand long gone. I can tell you if I was there and you think your telling me to leave, I'd laugh in your face.

agreed, amazing that he truly thinks he is right in his arguments here. Hope I never run into him in the bush, or in life, as I have no time for aholes like that.

Not in Ontario it's not!

We can bait, and set up feeders, or food plots, game camera's etc.

If I go through a #### ton of work for months prior to the hunt, I expect some respect from a fellow hunter.

I have come across this several times, and in great locations, but I move on out of respect for the guy that put in all that work. I just haven't had time these last couple years to do it myself, and don't expect to profit from someone elses hard work.

Next year I plan on baiting for bears in Spring and Fall, and setting up a couple spots for deer. If I find someone in my spots, we will quietly discuss the best direction for them to leave....

If that was me in "your spot", you would be the one leaving, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
