I know I should post this in the smoke pole thread but I was wondering if I would be better of buying a brand new muzzle loader or buy a replacement barrell fir my TC omega. If I were to buy a replacement barrell what would it cost

Yeah... tight groups suck.... especially from a muzzleloader.... what you want is nice loose groups... all over the place..... that's the ticket....

Seriously, are you having troubles with it?.... is it shooting poorly?...
 
Yes I was getting around 2 inch groups at 100 yards. And no I haven't changed my combo. 100 grains of the jim shockey sticks with 240 grain tc slugs
 
Hmmm... I've shot rifles that were badly pitted, and high mileage bores, and got reasonable results. I wouldnt necessarily blame the rifle barrel for your groups - its still low mileage. Look at the scope, mounts,eyes, bedding,etc.

Seriously I'm with cosmic I would try to rule out everything possible. I have had a couple old 38-55 and 44-40 that had terrible looking bores even after a through cleaning with JB and they shot very well to 100 yards.
Mounts, primers, bullets, loading procedure , the amount of pressure seating sabots on the powder.
You got lots of time to play with it till next season.

And as a show of good faith I'll give $24.95 for it !

Not to out done in the bidding I'll give you $30 and pay for the shipping. Seriously Cosmic is on the right track, check ever thing. Maybe if you list your set up someone may be able to point you in the right direction.
 
I have used JB bore polish on a couple of barrels and it's amazing what it scrubbs out. I'm sure it has improved accuracy for a couple of barrels
