Hi all, I bought a new Bushnell 20x40x60 x60 Spotting Scope, and it came with a really dismal excuse for a tripod. What is everyone using foe bench shooting, that won't break the bank ?
Thanks

manfrootto .... best bipod going and you can hang the spotting scope right in front of you like this

Did the research, ran the numbers, bought a Vanguard VEO 235AB Aluminum Tripod with TBH-50 Ball Head...fantastic tripod and found a great price.

pretty well all their models do this, if you have a camera store in your area they will most likely sell manfrotto tripods.

I ended up finding this out after some more research and some help from this thread. They certainly are great looking pieces of kit, but holy s**t are they pricey!

On many ranges in Canada where you are shooting in pairs and threes, this monfrotto set up is not going to make you any friends.

I would suggest "shooting" designs with a smaller footprint if going to use a spotting scope while shooting prone in F class.

Jerry,

Can you suggest an alternative which you have used/seen and would endorse?

I use the RAY VIN design... not sure if still manf.. see Creedmoor Sports. If it is made, it should be listed there.

There are others but I chose the Ray Vin for quality of manf, durability and ergonomics/ease of use. I got it before "Ray" retired.
